This is going to sound stupid, but is it okay to run studded snow tires on alloy rims? Will the snow/winter conditions do any harm to the rims?

Finally got the rims on today. I'm going to put the snow tires on the steel rims just to protect the new HX rims. However, I had to put the HX rims and the Summer tires on the car for a week just to see how they look. Sorry for the crappy pictures, I took them real quick when I got home.

why not pay the extra 90 bucks and have a spare set of tires? if he is only taking off 90, it would be worth it. 90>300. save some money next time.

they look pretty clean except a few curb rashes. also consider getting the wheels balance and have the wheels weights stuck on the inside of the rims. much cleaner that way. a drop would be nice.

I didn't buy the set of rims from that listing because someone beat me to it. I found another listing on eBay that was just the HX rims, no tires. I already have two sets of tires for this car, one set of snows that have been used for two winters and my regular tires that are only seven months old. I really like how these rims look, I'll try and post some better pictures tomorrow.

On a 14x5 rim, I'm using 195/60/14s. On my Si's, 15x6, I'm using 205/50/15s.
