Default Strut and Tie Bars

Hey I was looking to get these for my 97 civic, does this look like a good deal and are they all easy to install... even the tie bars?

yeah thats a good deal. installing the strut bars only takes a few mins, very easy. the tie bars take some more time and are a little more difficult but not bad.

While we're on this subject... what's better, tie bars, or an H-brace?

H-Brace is almost 100% pointless (mounting solid structure to solid structure won't give you stability).

Stiffens the chassis

Can't hurt to tie some points together in any chassis, race car or daily driver. It may not be worth it, according to you, but a unibody is one big piece of metal and it has the tendency to flex even just a little. If you've ever seen an LS1 camaro twist during a drag launch you will know it can't hurt to stiffen it up a little. I say go for the strut bars and than go for an H-brace afterwards. See if you need that extra little bit to make it worth it.

I've read several post by die hard forum goes that the adjustable join tie bars are useless and have no effect ("they allow flex in the system"), but I had first hand experiance with my buddies 96 integra and my ex's 98 saturn coupe with the adjustable cheapo ebay bars and I can say for sure that ANYTHING is better than nothing (the saturn was down right a new car with the tie bars front and rear...). I, however, have no personal experiance with the H-brace so I couldn't say left or right about it.

they do help, their just not as good as bars with solid end points. i felt the difference in my car when i installed them the first turn i took. its worth it esp considering the set is under $100 shipped..

I ask about the H brace because I found a nice set on ebay with front and rear carbon wrapped strut bars and titanium H brace for like $150
