i have a 95 civic ex coupe with 17" rims.the thing is that the car has stock springs so when 2 ppl get in the car it rubs.the question is what struts & shocks u guy's recommend that have high spring rate so it wont go down when ppl get in it?Budget is $400

 

The soft stock springs are most likely not your problem. Assuming you have 205/40-17 tires, the wheel offset is probably too low to avoid rubbing. You could probably roll your fenders to keep the wheels from rubbing, though.

 

the thing it onli rubs on left side because car is 1" lower on that side,that why i want to change struts & shocks.what do u reccomended?

 

If you want to stay near stock height I'd suggest coilovers, but those will go over your $400 budget. For $400 you might be able to get lowering springs (the only springs I know of that keep you close to stock height would be Tein H-Techs, and even those lower ~1") and some decent shocks.

If you can get a little more money together, maybe something like either Ground Control or Skunk2 coilover sleeves and for shocks go with KYB GR2's or Tokico Blues. With coilovers, you can usually get closer to stock height (usually they have a minimum of .5" drop), and the spring rates are usually higher for coilovers than they would be for lowering springs. Also, with Ground Controls you can choose the spring rates you want.

 

thnks i'll try to get more cash and go with kyb gr2 struts and ground control springs.
i was looking at the pics and this is 2" higher than my car
