Default RE: Tokico setup vs Tein S-techs

whoa...wish i checked this forum earlier...guess this is kinda an old thread, but thought i'd add in. I have a 98 civic Coupe...with tokico HP shocks and tein s-techs. the tein s-techs have 1.9F/1.7R. after the springs settle it's pretty close to 2. anyways, this setup is on 205/40/17 wheels, and no rubbing issues.

I believe you dont necessarily need a camber kit until after you lower your car past 2 inches. What the shops do after you put the springs and shocks in is when you get it aligned, they will put in a "camber shim"...(aka. washer) to fix the camber alignment.

i've had my shocks/springs setup for awhile now, and no camber wear. you should be fine without a camber kit, if you want to save money.

Also, the tein s-techs have a soft spring rate, comparable to the stock springs, so that's why you can still get an ok ride with stock shocks. i know a guy that has them installed with stock shocks on. works for him. Shocks are just a plus though, so would definately recommend it though if you have the money to spare...plus if u are gonna put in springs, minus well put in the shocks, cuz if u do them separately, ur gonna have to get alignment done every time afterwards.

hope that helps!
