Default what offset with h%r drop

The wheels i have on my 2000 civic is not giving me any room if any just enough for light to shine through (between the tire wall and the fender) with my h%r race drop. My car currently have no finger space but just enought where you can see the top of the tire. So now I need to know what offset 17 inch rims/tire combo will not give me rubbing issue if that's possible. I want some black rims so If you guys have some suggestion of black rims with the perfect offset let me know too!

Depends ALSO, on the width of the wheel. 17x7.5 +42mm or +45mm
