Will these rub.

I got some rims that have an offset of 42mm, but i wanted 40mm offset. I have 205 width tire and about an inch drop and the rims are 16x6.5J, will I have rubbing problems????

you should be fine, especially since you have 16" wheels.

What is the height of the tire?

1" drop is nothing, you'll be fine unless you put some 205/75s on there or something.

+42 will tuck it inside under the wheel well where it belongs......

^^^ unless I am mistaken...going from 42 to 40 will be even more tuck....
