89 hatch trany swap
Hi guys ive been working on my 1989 honda civic DX hatch for some time and have put many a hour working on the 88-91 range of this type.
I am getting ready to swap my current trany that is starting to give me issue's and replace the clutch at the same time.
My question is in the past when i helped a friend out with a engine swap on his 88 civic we had issues with the fly wheel teeth not matching up with the trany we got and found out the hard way that the number of teeth are different on that year from the one we got.
The trany i got for my car is out of a 1990 DX hatch and i have looked around and found that the 89 and 90 have the same number of teeth but it seems it is a different mm, is this going to cause me a issue on the install?
20 spline 200mm came in 89 crx/civics
20 spline 212mm came in 90-00 non-b series crx/civics
I am hoping sense its the same number of teeth it will just match up so i wont have to make another run to pick and pull for the proper fly wheel. Any info i could get would help me greatly and hopefully make this project go much smoother.
Thank you in advance!
