so recently i got my hands on a parts hatch, its a cx and i figured id do a little investigating while i was putting a new flywheel on my car, has anyone ever put a stock hatch cx tranny behind a d16Z6?? because ive talked to people and they said they havent hear about it, i know i can get abou 80-85 out of 2nd gear before i redline at 78 or 7900. any input??

i had a del sol with a mini me (done by a loser and never finsihed) and it had a cx trans. i liked the trans on the highway but to go anywhere you needed to downshift into 2nd. if you want good everyday performance i would locate a si trans. or build the z6 to handle lots of boost and have a really really fast highway car. but i don't know how well civics handle above 125 mph

 

well i took the z6 tranny out of it, its still fine. that is the Si trans right? i was just curious about how the cx tranny would be since i had one laying around.

stick with the z6 tranny man, a lx/dx/hf/cx transmission will zap the performance right out of the best of setups because of their tall gear ratios

 

thats what i was thinking, it is way too high, but i do like the gas mileage, ill probly leave it in till the race track opens back up. thanks for the input.
