Default Axle installation problems

My passenger side outer most cv joint has been clunking for a while now, boot tore a few months back. I went to autozone to pickup a replacement, I don't have abs so i bought the non-abs axle. When i went to install the axle the spline would not go into the wheel hub. So i returned the axle and went to pep boys and advance auto, with the same result. I checked my spline diameter against the replacement with a micrometer and the replacement axle was larger?? So i was running out of ideas, so i decided to try the abs axle. It fits like a charm, the only difference i noticed was that the abs axle has a speed sensor. Is this going to be a problem, because i did the same thing for the drivers side. So far no problem with the install.
