Hey there, i have a 93 civic dx, and recently there has been some problems. When i push the clutch in, it goes straight to the floor with no resistance. i was told that this might be the slip plate or a leak. How would i go about checking this, and would fixing this myself be too much of a hassle?

is there and fluid in the clutch master cylinder?

 

yea check your fluid in the resivoir, it may need filling and also need to be bled.

 

Whereabouts is this cylinder located? also, does it take just transmission fluid? or something else.

 

no it takes brake fluid. its right next to the brake fluid canister.

 

just regular dot 3?

 

yes and you will also need to bleed the line
just like how you bleed the brakes, the bleeder is right behind the radiator on the transmission

but the fluid dont just disapear if its low or empty you need to find the leak
