Default Grinding in 2nd and 3rd above 5k rpm

My transmission has problems shifting into 2nd and 3rd when my RPM is above 5k. I'm planning on doing the clutch soon and I want to fix this problem as well. Does anyone know what would cause this? I was thinking the main bearing is going out.

Thanks

Ok I scrolled down to someones similar problem. How much does it cost to change the syncro? I'll switch over to Honda MTF and see if that helps.

ask some local transmision shops about a carry in deal IF you can pull your tranny out yourself and carry it into the shop youll get a better price!!!!

might try changing the fluid first and see if that helps... ive heard it has helped a few people but if it grinds to bad either learn to drive slower or get it rebuilt.
i hardly ever shift over 5K myself. i typicaly shift at 3K rpms

Switching over to Honda MTF cured my transmission of the systemic grinding disease

if you are desperate, you could take the entire tranny out and your clutch and run some sea foam through your tranny to get it completely clea, then i HIGHLY recomend new clutch and clutch lines, MAYBE shift cables?

sea foam thru the tranny? ive never heard of anyone doing that!!!!!! the fluid is just sitting in the tranny on a manual.... for best results simply jack the drivers side higher and remove the stock plug and replace it with one with a magnet on it to keep any metal debri from floating around causing any more damage and simply refill with new fluid. i use only honda fluids in the tranny. but then again i havent had any problems yet either.

The honda MTF fixed the problem. The magnetic plug is a good idea though. It should have one from the factory. I think my old LX had one, I guess budget cuts are to blame.
