grinding noise
Ive basically had no third gear for 6 months, I just go from 2 to 4. Ive known it was my syncro, it slowly went bad, i used to be able to shift in to third at around 4200 rpms, now i cant be over 2900 rpms without grinding. Well, my point is, to ask what it would cost for a syncro replacement,or if it would be cheaper for a tranny replacement (and the guesstimated price for that) Thanks, and sorry for the mild thread jack
yeah snycros are bad, and just get a new tranny for the cost of a syncro and for someone to do it. Its not really that hard to do though. If you want to learn for your self. just go to a junky and buy one for super cheap, and take it apart and learn. Also, the 3rd in the junkyard tranny might just be good as well.

its pretty difficult for someone whos just learning, intake, header and otehr minor things i would say do, but a transmission is something that takes more effort and knowledge to do, i would pay someone to do that, just imo
Have you grinded it a lot in 3rd previous to the problem? If you grind your gears enough sometimes you can work grooves into it. Not the teeth but the fork going to it I think....Don't quote me on that, not certain on that last part.
