Default Higher speed auto shift.

My 99 Civic LX has started to shift on the slightest grade at speeds of 55 - 60 mph. It does a down shift one speed and then shifts back up when you level out. It is a very smooth shift with no extra engine revving. Is this anything to worry about and what might be causing it? The car has 125,000 on it. The rest of the time it is normal, at least the way it was when I bought it new. I have always felt it hung on a little long between 2nd and 3rd. Always easy and carefully driven. Thank you for your advice and help.

Default RE: Higher speed auto shift.

usually normal.........the transmission just downshifts to attempt to keep the engine in its power band.
