Default LSD or slicks?

What do you guys think would help more with traction, lsd or slicks. I only really have money for one right now and don't know witch one would be better. The cheapest i could find a lsd tranny is $900, i could get a good pair of slicks for $400.

LSD first, then slicks.

i have a question about LSD. since the stock trans allows one wheel to slip more so the trans wont burn up, wont the LSD make the trans work harder and wear out faster?

not to familiar with this all just tryn to learn

With an LSD you are able to put more torque to the ground, so yes, it would cause more stress on the transmission and clutch.

$900? ouch cheaper route out would be having an obx lsd installed. let me give you a little advice from my personal experience......i went the slicks route first a while back, and still blew the diff out. save the diff first and get an lsd.

I've read you'll become a better driver if you learn how to on street tires first, and then get slicks, because slicks make it too easy. I wouldn't know about that though because I've never ran with slicks.

really depends on you as a driver........slicks require more clutch feathering to keep the launch rpms up. but then again street tires require more throttle feathering to get any type of traction. slicks are a beuatiful thing though. once you go slicks youll never go back.......hell you may even want to invest in drag radials for street use. traction is nice and the sound of drag radials barking gears is unreal.

LSD first, then you have it all the time. you wont be able to run slicks on the street. for long

Thanx for the advice, i was leaning toward the lsd myself, but a quick question if anyone knows, what is the gearing difference between a GSR and a Type R lsd?
