Question performamce clutch

I;m looking at upgrading my clutch to a stage 1 performance cltuch with an aluminum light weight fly wheel, but heres the thing i have no clue which performance brand will give me the horse power i want and is best for my car. I was hoping someone could help me, possibly tell me what performance brand is best to look at. i've seen sone on a few performance sites but i dont know the difference between the 5 or 6 star clutch plates or the solid ones. so if anyone can or wouldnt mind i really need some help please.

You get no extra horsepower from an upgraded clutch. The clutch allows you to transfer the extra power from the modifications to your motor to the wheels.

Do not cheap out on a clutch. It takes time to install, and isnt the most fun of things to do. Having to pull everything off twice because a junk clutch was installed would suck. I have a stage 2 Competition Clutch (that is the name of the company) with an 8lb flywheel.

The "solid" ones are considered a street disc. I would go for them unless you had no other choice. The "5/6 star" clutches are a "puck" clutch. Not exactly sure which is better, but I do know that the pucked clutches make more clutch "chatter".

What kind of modifications do you have on your vehicle? If nothing extensive (read: extensive meaning more than the simple intake/header/exhaust), you do not need anything over stage 1.

Hope that helps!

Sounds like you don't really need a new clutch.
