Default quiet grinding noise from transmission

Hi, there I have recently bought a 97 lx standard trans with roughly 97,000 miles on it, I've had it for about 4 months now and I absolutley love it. Yet the other day i was driving with my windows down close to a brick wall and I noticed a very slight grinding noise coming from the tranny, its almost un un-noticable inside the car.

Now I have been reading through the forum looking for info on what this could be and I know it is possibly the throwout bearing or main bearing but I am new to standard trans mission as my last car was an automatic pathfinder. So please cut me a little slack here because im a newb,

Also with my last car i was on npora another online forum, and they were helpful with almost any question wether dumb or smart. So i hope this forum is as enjoyable as the last

Thank you, with upmost respect.

I forgot a few more things I onley hear the noise at roughly 2500 rpms to 4500, its the same in every gear, i dont know if maybe engine noise is blocking it out, but it seems to only be prevalent at those times.

Again thank you

I had a similiar problem in my 99 EX. I thought it was the throwout bearing so I changed the clutch and bearing. Got it all back together and it wasnt it. I ended up pulling the trans and found out it was the input shaft bearing. Replaced the bearing and all was good.
