wtf is a short shifter? how does it work? i searched for it and all i foud was installs. but im not sure about the function of it.and purpose.

i kno that a short throw shifter shortens the throws between each shift which in turn, gives u about a 40% decrease in shift time. i have a short throw and i love it. i can deffinetly feel the difference and the throws are much quicker.

 

they do it by changing the pivot point of the shifter, so that as the top part moves less distance, the bottom moves more, thus making you ned to move the shifter less to change gears.

 

also makes it almost impossible to miss gears, they lock in and theres no play in the stick while in gear. itll make shifts feel like ure driving a sports car

im not trying to thred steal or anything, but it goes with his question kinda...has anyone heard of a short shifter wrecking the transmission or anything like that??
