i own a 93 LX and it's a 5 spd standard. my first car and kinda new to standard. i have the hang of it and all since i got it in september. but anyways, when i put it into 1st gear and slowly push the gas pedal in and the clutch out, of course, it makes this squeaky or squealing sound. this only happens when im in 1st from a stop and taking off really slow. for example, a drive thru. any ideas what may be the problem? could it be the trannmission fluid or clutch fluid? i bought the car in september and never asked about that kind of question because i never knew about the tranny and clutch fluid until now.

 

I had a similar problem with my 97 DX where I would hear a metallic squeaking or rattling noise mostly when clutching in first gear. It turned out to be a loose exhaust heat shield.
