Default Sticks in Park

I have a 98 Civic EX Automatic . The shifter sticks goingin and out of Park. I have not found any info on what this could be. Does anyone know? Thank You

Do you depress the brake pedal every time?

Yes, the brake is pressed and the brake light works, so it isn't the safety switch.
Since it is only in and out of Park that is trouble, I thought it was the switch too.
Going to the dealer in the morning, but they won't say what it could be, which is the run-around I was expecting from them. Thanks anyway.
