Default Throw Out Bearing...

Hello all. I have a '97 Civic CX Hatchback, 5-speed. A noise is coming from the transmission when my foot is not pushed down on the clutch. When I push down, it goes away. Sort of a rattly-type noise. I found out from a friend that it could be a bad throw out bearing. Just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them and what it will cost to get fixed. I really appreciate any suggestions/help on this. I really love that car! It just turned over 170,000 miles. THANKS ANYONE! ...Jeff

The throw out bearing only spins when you push the clutch in. I don't have too much experiance with manual transmissions and clutches, but do know how they work. I don't think that the T-O bearing touches anything when the clutch is out, but i could be completly wrong. If the T-O isn't touching anything, then it can't make sound since all sound occurs because of vibration.
