We recently bought a used 95 Civic EX AT with 167k miles on it for me as a daily driver but it seems to have a transmission problem. The car won't shift from 1 to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd unless you allow the RPM's to get up to about 4K and force it to shift by letting off the gas. It downshifts on its own when slowing down but hard. One mechanic friend told my fiance' when he called him that it could be that the throttle cableis getting hung up on something or the valve in the valve body.


Anyone have any ideas?
