Tranny shifting erratic, engine light triggered

1996 civic ex coupe auto. Tranny started acting weird and triggered check engine light. Anyone encounter this problem or similar? Thanks!

My 96 ex trans. hessitates between all gears and is starting to slip more. Down shifting is sometimes rough. Transmission has trouble adjusting while going up hills. Read a couple threads about selinoids and other trouble shooting tips.Like to know what it is too.
