Trans or Clutch
When my car is in neutral, it makes a slight grinding noise until I depress the clutch then it stops. My clutch is strong, no slipping or anything like that. I was told I need a new clutch, I have heard noise when in reverse like grinding and shuddering. But again, no slipping.

Also make sure that you are completely stop when you put ur car into reverse. I use to let my car roll down the drive way and put it into reverse while it still moving which made some ugly grinding noise.
Ok peeps, I changed the clutch, press plate, flywheel, flywheel bearing and throw out bearing, trust me, the clutch was going. Nice and smooth. Now I still here the throw out bearing until I depress the clutch. Is that normal? Also what is that rattling noise I hear in front under the car? When the car was on a hoist, I grabed pretty much everything to see if something was lose, and it was not. Help with the sound.
Got the noise to stop. My resevoir was all of a 1/4 inch from the top if it was that much.
I added maybe two caps of brake fluid, and the noise stop. I figured it would not make a difference, I guess I was wrong. Thanks for all the help.
