trans conversion complete but have ??
heck yea..lol..hey do u know how much harder or the differences between doing it on a cable tranny to a hydro tranny?..my friend has a 95 DEL sol and he wants me to do his...but i dont know how muuch harder it would be..
its a whole lot simpler IMO. one thing though, you must use the del sol linkages as they are bent differently than the civics. not to mention there is a hole in the firewall for the clutch assembly. you can also convert 92+ civics to the cable set up just as easily and vice versa. IMO 5spd conversions are very simple just very time consuming.
ok well i got the mount and axel today and i put it all together...the car drives...but there are a few things....when i take off...the car sounds like its runing open header...very loud..it dosnt sound like this with the clutch in or when im in N...only when im driving in gear...also when i push the clutch in it makes this noise...only happens when the clutch is in..kinda like taking 2 quarters and rubing them together in your hand...and one more thing..i got the connecter connected to the break pedal..and my break lights stay on..they wont turn off even when the key is out..i have to disconnect the bat...any suggestions?..
welll i got it runing pretty good now...im still not happy due to the 2 bad motor mounts that i went ahead and used..you deffinatly feel the bad mounts a lot more with a manaul tranny...i think this weekend im gunna go and pick them up from the junk yard...i need to get a front mount and rear mount...i noticed the rear mount for the manual transmissions is a bitch to get off..any suggestions to get it off easily?...i think putting the 2 good mounts will help a lot cuz right now there is so much movment of the engine its not even funny...also my timing is way off cuz i took the dizzy off to make more room while working...the car is ideling so rough...its like i keep steping on the gas..u know kinda like the top fuel cars idel..lol...well this weekend ill try to get the timing light on it and set that back right..and i gotta adjust the break light actuater switch thingy..cuz my break lights stay on constanyly...and also i might be pulling the tranny again in the next week so i can put a new throw out bearing cuz i used the old one cuz the new one that came with the set didnt look anything like it..and turns out its going bad so..more practice tho..lol...thanks for all your help guys..
there is no easy way to get the rear mount off. only way yuou can do it with the motor in place is with a swivel socket or a universal joint. as far as the brake light......the brake switch is adjustable. loosen the retaining nut and back the switch out some till the lights go off.
yea i saw the retainig nut..i just put a couple layers of tape there for now...ill get to that when i have time..with 2 bad motor mounts there is sooo much movement..but other than that i couldnt be happier...stick is soooo much more fun...im sure once i get the 2 mounts in it will be great....right now my timing is soo off the car is ideling like a top fuel car...lol...its kinda cool...the car seems to pull harder off the line now..i dont know if thats just cuz the tranny or cuz my timing is so advances and im using a lot of fuel...
