Let me start off by saying, unfortunately, I currently have a comatose automatic transmission bolted to my Z6. I was originally going to wait until I swapped to an h22 to get a 5-speed, but then a thought hit me: that would mean driving an auto for yet another year or two, which is something I'm not sure I can handle. Anyway, I think I have most of the swap thing figured out, but I have a few things I'm not sure on:

I figure while I'm swapping out the transmission, I might as well go with the best of the SOHC best (since any d-series transmission can bolt to any d-series, barring the dohc zc)... Does anybody know off-hand what d-series hydraulictransmission accelerates fastest? I'm not really worried about top speed, since there's no practical application for that in every-day driving. I'd assume it's an EX transmission from eitherthe Z6 or Y8, butare there anyreal differences between these transmissions? My mom works at a company that provides auto parts for the government, so I think she could probably get me a rebuilt Honda transmission relatively cheap (she's bought Honda parts from the company before), so I figure I can probably choose what transmission I want. Any ideas/opinions on what transmission to get?

The Y8 tranny will be your winner!! Make sure it is stamped with B000 on it.

Okay, thanks... I found a site with all the gear ratios from Honda transmissions (http://lonewolf-online.net/cars/hond...mission_guide/) after I posted thisand I saw that the Y8's ratios were a little higher, so I was thinking it would probably be my best bet. Thanks for the confirmation.
