OK, I have a 2004 civic LX 2 dr coupe which is currently sitting on some very nice 18" rims. Wrapped in some sticky 225/35/18 rubber.

Now I need to lowering the car to get rid of that nasty wheel gap. I recently bought the TEIN s-tech springs for my car and planned on installing them at a local shop in town when they told me I will need to buy new rear adjustable control arms and a camber/castor kit for the front.

This seems really odd to me because the springs will ONLY drop the car a max of 1.5" so is this stuff really needed???

Any thoughts?

i didnt need any for my 00. but i dont know if the suspention setup is the same on a 04. on the rear i used washers behind the upper conrol arm, and the front was ok.

 

^ most places wont do the washer trick because of liability. you could do it yourself though, not too hard from what i hear.

 

I would do a camber kit in the front just to be on the safe side and to get those extra miles out of your tires. You wont need one in the rear because the tires dont turn they just fallow. But rear control arms do look really good when on lowered cars
