figure why not reapers got his stang thread. ; )
traded my black 1999 automatic civic coupe for this truck in december. so far i feel ive done quite a bit and still alot more to come.
i got the truck pretty much stock, only thing done to it was window tint on the front side windows to match the stock deep tint on the side rear windows and back window. and also has some aftermarket speakers in the door and i think in the rear pillar but not sure. nothing fancy but better than stock for now.
its a 1997 chevy C1500 extended cab, 3rd door option, 5.7 Vortec motor and nice chrome wheels stock (my favorite two options) its a 2wheel drive automatic.

Body upgrades is swapped for GMC truck molding, for future 31bar flush grill in front.
also black headlights and corners and parking lights all black, and 6K Hids in the low beams.
(yes still needs matching paint. its on back burner until after i paint my civic)
also soft tonno cover for the bed to keep everything dry and from flying out.

so far my upgrades are audio since its my fav thing to modify. Alpine flip out dvd radio, sirius replay tuner, ipod connection, (rear back up camera coming soon) and Dual Optima yellow top D34/78 batteries under the hood, (high power alt also to come soon). and for bass i have lifted the rear bench seat 4inches and built a custom box fiberglassed floor bottom double baffle front to flush mount the subs, and carpeted over both of the subs for a stealth setup. subs sound good but im already planning bigger and louder! currently amplifier is only a weak jbl 600watt amplifier that kinda sucks but works, my good RF amplifier is out for repair due to a factory metal screen falling off the cover and shorting out the internal components. (NOT MY FAULT)

performance mods so far is just chopping off stock muffler and using Two 2 1/4 dynomax Bullet mufflers with true duals out the rear bumper. (but already i have to have new pipes in due to suspension change those pipes wont clear the axle.
second performance upgrade is a factory GM 10bolt rear end G80 gov lock setup with stock 3.42gears to keep its decent milage for a truck. i already have the rear end which i got from my local pullapart. i just need new brake parts for it and gear oil for it and then i will install it. it should help me out ALOT in the winter since its just a 2wheel drive truck, i hate that one wheel spin on ice and not moving still! the gov locker should be very nice upgrade not to mention the nice 2wheel burn out when i smoke em!

currently waiting on the leaf spring plates circled in red before i can continue the rear suspension :(
ya im really pissed about those 2 parts missing! the box looked retaped when i got it but tape looks old so i doubt it was stolen or lost in shipping.
i called stylintrucks afew hours ago to let them know so they are calling the manufacture DJM and having them ship me the missing parts from the kit.
downfall is i didnt know the part was missing until half way thru the install :(
so im stuck leaving the truck on jack stands till i get the plates which sucks.... i was going to have a little fun with a serious rake look with 0/6 drop kit to work tomorrow.LOL
BUT that wont be happening. and only reason for that is im waiting on cash to replace the front rotors since they are warped, been that way since i bought the truck. so before i replace the front spindles and springs im going to wait on lowering the front until i can replace them with new ones the first time and also replace the wheel bearings just to be safe.
and i must say the suspension on my truck is A WHOLE LOT MORE OF A PITA than my civic!!!!! leaf springs are a huge PITA to remove and install! took me 2 1/2hours to simply remove them and put them back in to put the axle ontop of the springs! hopefully i never have to remove them again!
the front shouldnt be to hard but the springs could be a little trickier to remove them.
thats the missing part holding me up!
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/DJM%204%206%20drop/DJM46dropkit-14.jpg
also this summer i plan on pulling the bed of my truck and painting the whole frame with POR15. i painted the new rear end with it and it should hold up great if its as good as they say it is!
plan on doing alot of cleaning up and even some repainting on the truck.
BUT my civic is first on the TO DO LIST for paint!!!!!!!! its getting warmer out which is great so after i lower the truck and get the exhaust pipes and alignment redone then i will start the body work on the civic and get it ready for paint! so the truck will be put on hold for maybe a month maybe shorter depending how long it takes me to fix all the slight hail damage on the original sheet metal.

thanks id like to clean it up alot more.
my next stereo will be 2 15s with a HALF bench delete which im trying to find a tan rear bench to sacrifice JUST INCASE it doesnt turn out.LOL
to something like this....LOL but lowering the bench back down for better headroom.

main thing with my drop that sucks is i just got those pipes last month... freaken 165bucks that needs to be redone now to clear the raised axle :(
im hoping they will cut me a deal and modify those pipes.... i sure dont want to pay another 165bucks to have all new pipes bent up!

thanks for the complements.
well this was my old truck. 2 15s REaudio SXs and a orion 2500watt amplifier. i loved this setup! i just didnt like it being a 2seater... so this truck when i go big im going to keep at least 1/3rd of the rear bench seat in place ;) tho no good picturse of the box setup in the truck due to the LARGE size of the box and no 3rd door.
it scored a 145db on the meter and made it very hard to swallow. I LOVED IT!!!!

and this was my old trucks exterior shaved door handles and paint. tho for this truck i wont be doing any of these mods... only mod i want to do is the 31bar flush billet grill in front.

tho i never had the cash to drop the truck due to constant rent.
but i have learned alot from that truck. one custom paint and shaved molding SUCKS for a daily driver, also that bumper is there for a good reason... i jackknifed my dads trailer alittle to much and crushed the corner of the bed :(
you cannt have a to custom truck for a daily driver in my area.LOL
i love the truck but the only downfall with it is the MPG and gas tank! :( costs about 40bucks to fill up and the civic only takes about 15 bucks.
so ill still be driving the civic more than the truck.LOL
id love to go with air bags on the truck BUT i dont want to cheap it out so would cost me about 3,5-5K bucks for everything :( and thats definatly not in my budget. so the 4/6lowering should be nice for now but i might get it lower. all depends how good it looks after i install the kit.

BAG IT :D both your truck looks good. your custom enclosures looks good too, great job man

04-24-2009, 12:46 PM
ya well i dont have the green 95 anymore. main problem with it was it was the 2door and only a 305/5.0 TBI motor was very lacking in power! that truck was very hard to even chirp the tires it was sad!!!!
i ended up selling the truck about 2-3years ago i think. i loved and hated the shaved door handles. looked sweet but sometimes was a PITA popen the doors and such. very good for theft prevention ;) but main thing that made me sell that truck was gas prices! i couldnt afford to drive it when gas was so high i was always hurting for money! main reason why it was never lowered. i had the drop kit ONCE and a week later i had to sell the used kit i got to pay bills! :(
and id LOVE to bag the truck BUT----------- that would mean i would have to sell the civic.... and i like having the civic just incase i get low of funds again i can simply drive the civic until payday with chump change.lol so ive decided selling it would not be a good idea since the truck loves gas... ive been getting about 16mpg lately in the truck. at first i was getting 18mpg. and i havent tuned the truck up yet. only thing ive done to it mechanicaly is change the oil and filter right after i got the truck which its about time to change it again so im going to seafoam the truck and then change the oil and filter again.
just wait till i get the rear spring plates. im going to drive the truck until friday with just the rear droped... so what ever you call that the rake look.lol sure it will get some laughs and just look like the bed is loaded down like a MOFO. LMFAO
also another future plan which will be the next mod will be adding air assist rear suspension so i can still haul some heavy loads even lowered. its just like a air bag over the axle and to the frame rail to help support the heavy load.
and i also already have a electric brake controler so i can tow my dads trailers and shouldnt have to much trouble pulling or stoping them. i just have to wire up the brake controler and run the wires for it. ive already installed a class 4 hitch that i had on my old truck when i got it so towing shouldnt be a big deal in that department...
you never know when i could find a sweet deal on another project civic... if i can find a 96-00hatch project ill jump on it if i can with the cash! ;) i would totally ditch the coupe for a hatch! gotta love being able to to tow when i need to.
i also want a bedrug for the bed BUT might be awhile before i get that since its freaken 400bucks or so. :(

ok well I OFFICIALLY HATE "STYLINTRUCKS.COM" ok so i was missing those 2 spring plates... not a huge deal at first just abit of a PITA. last thursday they said OK well contact the manufacture and have them ship me those 2 lower spring plates.... ok..
i keep calling every day, friday, monday, tuesday to keep checking in with whats going on... every day its.. "we are still waiting for the manufactures tracking info to send to you."
ok well after 3 solid work days and a weekend im getting pissed off now. call again ask them WHY cannt they simply open another flip kit box and ship me the 2 plates that i am missing? "o no we cannt do that with individual parts since they might send me the wrong ones." OK I STILL HATE YOU GUYS and hung up... after stewing awhile i decide MAYBE ITS "DJM" fault they are dicken around with my ordered parts i need... look them on online and call them directly..... GUESS WHAT "THEY DONT HAVE A ORDER OF ANYTHING FOR ME IN THERE STACK OF PAPERS" (YES I HEARD HER FLIPPING THRU THEM SEVERAL TIMES TRYING TO FIND MINE) STILL NO LUCK... so she says i need to call stylintrucks back and tell them THEY HAVE NO SUCH ORDER and to send the order/fax again.
so then i had to call stylintrucks AGAIN....... and tell them they screwed up they either didnt fax the info or it didnt go thru... either way im still pissed about the whole situation!
i even asked the guy yesterday and today "CAN THEY CALL AND CHECK THAT THEY DO HAVE THE ORDER!!!!!" APPARENTLY THEY JUST DON'T GIVE A DAM! i think im a nice guy (to nice on the phone i guess) im going to call djm tomorrow when i get home from work and if they dont have the order by then im defiantly going to have to cuss someone out on the phone and try to get someone fired for all this crap im going thru to get my parts!
my trucks stuck on jack stands till i get these 2 small plates!
END RANT.....
long story short, I WILL NEVER BUY FROM STYLINTRUCKS.COM AGAIN!!!!!! SALE OR NO SALE! THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!

LMFAO well i wont do the bench mod for awhile... gotta paint the civic before i do anymore mods on the truck. ;)
anyways i wont really be thinking of a design setup till its time to buy the equipment that i chose which still not sure what subs im going to use... im aiming towards some FIaudio BTL single 15 or maybe if im nuts a 18, or maybe just 2 12inch BTL then get another amplifier. but i have to upgrade the alternator before any of that since my small 600watt amp already dips voltage hard.LOL not under 12volts since i have dual optimas but i still dont like the 12volt.

OK a bit of good news... FINALLY after repeatedly calling stylin trucks complaining finally talked to a supervisor and he called DJM company to get me my plates and tho he said they where shipped out thursday night, fedex 2day shipping, the tracking number didnt say it was picked up till friday, and i just got it today tuesday, not so much 2 day i guess.
i have the rear axle flip kit all torqued down, pinion set I THINK correctly, not installing carrier bearing shims until after i test drive it to see if it needs it or not. im thinking it might need one shim, it came with 2. so not a big problem to install just hoping i dont have to.
been cutting and drilling the last few hours and these frame notches are a PITA. :( lots of grinding with a cutoff wheel and now im drilling drilling and more drilling... and still on the first side, drivers side the hardest due to the brake line and wire harness behind the rail. my hands are just DEAD right now from drilling! this frame is pretty thick....
o well back to work drilling and cutting... I JUST WISH I HAD A PLASMA CUTTER!!!!!! cut off wheel and sawzaw still is slow going! and drilling 8 pilot holes and then 8 fullsize holes is very hard on the hands!
o ya also chopped off my exhaust pipes :( that was a sad moment!!!!!!
hopefully i can at least get this one side done tonight and then do the other side tomorrow since im off work and also slap the front on. only downfall is i dont have enough cash to replace the rotors yet so im just going to slap the old on there for another 2weeks till payday and then replace them. :( cable bill is due the day before i get paid and i need my cable/internet ;)

ya me too!!!!!!! i was really getting pissed!
and well i got the one side almost done. had to go out and buy afew new drills my small drill stopped cutting fast enough ;)
i just have to bolt the notch in tomorrow i would have bolted it in tonight BUT after all that crawling under the truck and pushing so hard bent over drilling the frame rail.... well my back hurts so i just sprayed the rail alittle bit and quite. ill feel better tomorrow since im off work ill have all day to do the other rail. and hopefully also do the front as well.
the pieces ive been waiting so long for....

well i got alittle more work today. did i mention that i hate drilling holes.LOL
the trucks got alittle chevy lean tho. i may fix it later this year... gotta see how much the front leans. the chevy lean is due to the gas tank and driver being on the drivers side. so the weight is definatly not distributed very good. :(

and im pretty sure that i already need to chop up the frame out completely for a weld in step notch... which i have one but its missing the lower plate so id have to make it myself. depends how bad she bottoms out daily how soon i weld it up!!!!!!! but at the soonest this late summer. still need to buy some helper bags if i want to tow anything.
either way late summer the bed will be pulled off and the frame painted with POR15 black. plan on busting out the sand blaster to the whole thing. rust sucks!

o ya i could have you worken to.LOL my back and arms are killen me from all that drillen... probably didnt help that the large drill wasnt to sharp either :(
the main killer for me will be when i get this suspension done and start working on my civics body work :( I HATE SANDING!!!! i can do good body work and paint its just the manual labor of sanding sanding and more sanding and when i think im done.... YEP more sanding!
im going to attempt to pop most of the hail damage out with the dryice trick and HOPEFULLY that trick actually works at least some. at least that way i wont have to fill AS MUCH since im sure it wont be perfect.
o ya back to the truck topic... i seem to have bad luck lately... with waiting for the lower spring plates for almost 2 weeks. well today i started to install the rear shocks and GUESS WHAT..... im missing pieces for the one. missing the top bolt sleeve and also the lower sleeve for it. i was able to remove the original bolt sleeve from the factory shock BUT the lower sleeve is to fat and no way in hell i can get the sleeve thru the urethane bushings! so im waiting for summitracing.com to send me the new hardware... i just hope they do me a hell of alot better than stylintrucks did!
im tempted to just slap the shocks on since the lower sleeve is pretty thin so it might not be to bad on the bushing to have alittle slack since they are new urethane bushings.
all depends how i feel tomorrow after work.
i have to channel out the middle bed brace for it to clear the axles pumpkin. pretty minor tho.

well ok i got it on the ground again and driving, but the front ends still stock ;) i wanted some funny pics and one thing the truck is screaming is I NEED AIR BAGS. LMFAO looks pretty cool, IF only i could flip a switch and make the front go down and back up. LOL
the back does bottom out on a hard dip going fast but not to bad at all.
the drivers side is one inch lower than the passenger.... dam full tank of gas.LOL
and no i havent got the shock steel sleeve yet BUT i couldnt resist busting the truck out and going for a drive! ill simply take the bolt out and slide the sleeve in when i get it in the mail.
i had to retorque the rear axle bolts already twice and still have to keep checking the Ubolts just to make sure they dont loosen up or stretch anymore.
just have to keep checking to be sure for alittle while. better safe than sorry.
sectioned the bed bracing for the rear pumpkin to clear.

a whopping 7inches of clearance on the rear.... should raise alittle when i drop the front of course.
i drop the front tomorrow after work since i have all weekend off to get the front done and it shouldnt take me but a few hours to get the front done since its simple springs and spindles.

but so far it rides good. needs the front dropped and alignment done. might not be able to get the alignment till the 15th tho.... have to run some numbers and see if i can before then or not..... the cable bill is taking alot of my cash and i also forgot mother day funds. which no way in hell i could skip that. about 100bucks spent there but well worth it to make my mom happy of course. i got the text when she got them "WOW you shouldnt have but im so glad you did i totally love it." ;) she 1K miles away but i can picture her smile. sure it sounds saby but i love my mom. and if i missed it my mom and dad would not let me forget about it.LOL im sure my stupid brother probably wont get her anything.

ya i did that for sh**s and giggles ;)
right now im working on the front. trying to figure out these factory knockouts i keep hearing of for my truck but i cannt find any pictures. im not sure if mine have been knocked out already or if these metal flaps that are bent over are them and just need to be hammered flat or what not.
hoping i can get a answer on my truck forum. so far no luck searching for a before and after pic. :(
hopefully ill get a answer or find a picture of before and after soon so i can bolt the front back up.
i thought id have this knocked out in a few hours but hell took me 2hours so far just removing one side. i swear a trucks balljoints suck! i had to use a freaken wrench and a trailer hitch extension to get enough leverage to loosen the balljoint nuts! NUTS!
but i got one spring out and new one almost in. i just need to figure out this upper control arm knock out crap then i can put it all together and be done with the passenger side at least.

well i got one side done at least... i didnt have to grind down the LCA any for it to clear my wheels but it is close... i might grind it down about 1/4inch on the front just be to safe.
defiantly learned how not to change the springs! the book tells you one way which is NO GOOD!!!!!!! alot easier to just pull the balljoints and spindle and pull the spring out the side instead of pulling the rear LCA mounts. lining up those 2 rear LCA bolts is a huge PITA!

and the one thing that defiantly bugs me about lowering the front is the instructions say NOTHING about having to bend the hard brake line. that was a bad suprise. defiantly nerve racking bending that dang line!
it hits the top balljoint mount on the drop spindle.

drivers side still needs done of course. and im not sure IF or HOW MUCH the springs will settle. ill do the drivers side tomorrow and then try to set the camber a little better.... i have it set outwards a little to much on the passenger side. since i wasnt sure how much adjustment i had stock, turns out quite a bit ;)

ok well more work done today. BUT problem... I DEFIANTLY HAVE TO ROLL THE FRONT FENDER LIPS OR GET SMALLER TIRES for the front. :( sucks.... i heard it rub alittle on a hard dip but after checking it twice and not seeing any cuts i didnt think to much about it. i thought the camber was just way off with positive camber but i heard the drivers side rub a little also and it probably has negative camber since i didnt touch it.
tomorrow im going to stop by the alignment shop and see if they can do it tomorrow after work. at least this way i can see where the camber should be at and i can roll the fender just enough. i just hope i dont screw up the chrome molding since i dont want to debadge the truck. i learned my lesson about debadging my old truck from all the stupid inconsiderate bastards out there just swinging there doors open into my truck!
first ill show the carnage so far. sliced right thru the thread like a hot knife thru butter. :(

ALMOST time to put the truck on hold and start sanding on the civic!
i just have to roll the front fenders a bit, get a alignment, and but new front caliper/hubs and bearings and brake pads. and the truck will be put on hold until after i paint the civic.
tho with the civic i dont believe its worthy of a project thread... plus with body work is not much to show. it will just be a completed paint pictures when its done and dry. ;)
im putting the suicide door project onhold on the civic.... i have all i need for it but i dont want to have the civic down for that long while i figure out how to do both doors at once. plus ill have the paint already so i can easily touch it up later on after i do it.

addiction2bass
05-11-2009, 06:48 PM
LOL you got some you can send me? ;) im to broke BUT even if i had enough cash i would stick to 20s most likely... much larger and the tires get to thin and i hate skinny tires on a truck. at least on my personal ride because i know im way to ruff driving and i would tear thru tires and rims like crazy. so i prefer to have have some sidewall.
but a bit of update again. im 95% happy with the drop. it seems like my rear axle just doesn't want to hold proper pinion angle and torqued bolts after i adjust the pinion. im going to remove the flip kit brackets and grind down the axle shaft since I THINK there is some rust of just debri on the axle tubes that is not letting it grip and hold pinion angle very good. its not a huge problem but i feel some vibration in the rear when i first take off hard on the gas. so its just not right but close.
so my next day off ill tweek it.
today i took the truck for a alignment. and all is good. easy enough to set caster/camber and toe. 70bucks because the caster/cambers knockouts where already removed. if they where not already punched out they would have tried to charge me 140bucks.... OUCH. good thing i checked. but mine was already punched out so it was great for me. but it just would have took a air chisel to remove them IF i had them.
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/DJM%204%206%20drop/SCAN0039-1-1.jpg
and after i got back from alignment shop i busted out the body hammer and started beating the hell outta the front fender lips.... luckily i was able to keep the factory chrome molding by just beating it as well and then just removing the center screw after i was half way thru hammering the crap outta it. it would have been nice to have my fender roller BUT i would have had to use there large wheel bracket which i didn't have and was extra money of course. but the body hammer was all i really needed and a lot of hammering!!!!!!! can't do it with just a few hits. gotta go little by little... defiantly a lot more time consuming than using a fender roller tool like i used on my civic!
i bent up about half of the lip which luckily enough SO FAR is enough to clear with typical driving over some bumpy roads. i still have yet to drive like a fool and see that it still doesnt rub but so far so good no rubbing or slicing my tires thread off.

i surprised myself how good i did with just the hammer. hard to get a good picture of it but it is pretty evenly bent
but mostly im just REALLY HAPPY that i dont have to buy smaller tires!
i also need longer shocks for the rear and to use the included DJM shock extenders... the shocks are angled sharply in back and even bent the top flap from it being at such a harsh angle. so i will be replacing these shocks with slightly longer ones and installing the shock extenders. but for now it rides alright its just shocks dont ride as good as i think they can.

they are pretty much just spinners with a backing plate and abunch of weights stuck to the back of the spinner.
IMO that looks the sweetest driving down the road!!!! spinners are to every day and more for parked, stop and go driving. BUT floaters make it look like your skating on ice! I LOVE IT!!!!!

well i got a little more work done. i said i was going to start working on the civic BUT my car show is next month and i have a few loose ends that need buttoned up to be worthy of my stereo comp.
i got 27ft of 1/0gauge wire for my amplifier so no more 4gauge ran to the amplifier, also tied both batteries under the hood together with 1/0gauge, 1/0gauge ground wire on the frame, still need one more 1/0gauge ground for the frame to cab near my amplifier tho.
i must have pulled a muscle or something in my leg and its killing me right now so i called it a day! :(
i also got my RF amplifier back from repair BUT main thing that sucks is the spec sheet is not as impressive. old amp was 1,620watts and new one is only 1,227watts. but o well it will actually work better with the type R 12s.
my next project for the truck will be adding a port to the subwoofer box! so far my best DB score is 129.8 which i think is respectable for a truck and somewhat stealth install but im not quite happy with it YET. ill try the port and see how that is for now... it should help my score for this years car show/db drag. but next year im going to be aiming for 140+Db! so that means i have to delete most of the rear bench seat.;)
but then again that 129.8db score is with the amplifier set low for right now because chevy sucks for making the tiny 105amp alternator on the truck :( hell even my tiny civic had 90 amp alternator... so to keep my voltage up i have to upgrade the alternator. my local alternator/starter guy can build me a 240amp alternator for 240bucks which is a good deal. i bought one from him before for my old truck and it kicked @ss!!!! cranken 2500watts and still holding a solid 14.4volt all day long!
o ya and my battery setup is not complete yet... i need more stinger top post battery terminals.... but for now my cheap @ss terminals work, just not purty ;)

first thing i did to this amplifier is opened it up and pulled out that dam metal screen! this screen is what destroyed my old amplifier! after about 2years these tiny plastic melted tabs breaking off.... if they would have used a plastic screen or hell just mounted it in with screws or rivets just more secure it might have been fine but on my old amp it fell down and shorted out the internal board.

here's my question... does it pull at all? The front camber/caster differences from side to side should cancel each other out, but with the thrust angle being -0.12*, I'd still think it would pull since it doesn't seem like the front end was set up to compensate for the thrust angle.
Anyway, the truck's coming along nicely :D

it seems to go straight just fine and the rear end isnt adjustable since its the solid axle. tho my spring Ubolts where striping themselves since they kept backing off for some odd reason... and well when i tried to remove the Ubolts to adjust my pinion angle more it screwed the threads all up so i had to buy all 4new U bolts :( those freaken things cost me 70bucks to replace :( BUT so far the nuts have stayed tight. this time i grinded down the axle tube where the U bolts went over to let them bite maybe abit more. and the new U bolts didnt come with the nylon thread nuts. which i think is what made them not tighten properly. but so far so good. maybe the ubolts also threw off the rear measurements with the old ones not staying torqued.
but its all good. i have alittle bit of a vibration when im taking off but i believe thats because i didnt use the shock extenders on the rear and the shocks have a wicked angle on them! so ill blame alittle bit of that vibration on some axle wrap. im trying to find soft shocks for the rear with the right length for my drop but its alot of researching! i might have to just use some belltech shocks for the rear still good shocks just not as soft as the summit racing ones i got.

ok well been awhile since i updated. but i havent done much work lately. just been tweaking on the civic alittle and doing some maintance work on the truck and fixing the water pipes out in the shop so i now have water out in the shop so as soon as i fix the brakes on my truck ill be putting the trucks progress on hold and start working on the body work and paint on the civic.
truck i think needs new front and rear brakes :( the rears started making noises at slow crawls stops. and the front has warped rotors ever since i bought the truck. im going to inspect the rear brakes today but i dont think its going to be pretty. :( last time i tried to pull off the drums they didnt want to easily pull off. so i asume they are old with a huge lip worn into them that will make them a HUGE PITA to remove!
but for the reason to bump... i ran into trouble with my subs being carpeted over... with the new RF amplifier hooked up pushing alot more power the subs excursion was alot further than before and over maybe a month i noticed my subs sounded odd, i cut the carpet back and found that the inner rubber surround had worn completely threw and seperated ruffly half of the surround and cone on one subs and then just slightly threw a few spots on the 2nd sub.
i used afew drops of super glue and then some Loctite vynyl, fabric & plastic flexable adhesive glue all the way around the damaged rib and the back side area also.... SO FAR a week later and its still holding strong even on fully cranked. it doesnt look good of course BUT WORKS. and i plan on swapping out the bass setup anyways this year.
my new bass is mostly planned but i might tweak the design a bit. i MIGHT or might not section of the rear bench seat... i might just delete it compleltly. all depends when i start measuring everything out. BUT i will be removing my front bucket seats and center console for a front bench seat... this will give me more passenger room in the truck which i was missing so much in my old extended cab. only problem is finding a truck with a tan cloth seats from a 95-98 truck at my local yard cheap ;)
i havent tried the more expensive junk yards yet as every other time i go for parts they try to rape you on parts cost!
but the subs ill be using will be FIaudio BL two 12s ported keeping them under the rear window line to keep it street B class when competing to easily put up some nice scores to win in my class.
tho i have been considering 2 15s. tho that will put me in a higher class street C which is more competitive.
but as for the amplifier ill try to stick with this same style RF amplifier but the next step up to the 2K watt amplifier.
i figure ill slap these 2 12 type Rs and amplifier in the civic. i figure that would put the civic at ruffly 144db easily.

well today i had to do just a little more work to the truck... i had the tire shop reballance the wheels twice now and yesterday i figured out WHY. ;) the inner wheel weights where geting spun and knocked off the inner lip from a little steel on the LCA that i didnt cut back far enough. and also my passenger side actually rubbed the tire a little at full turn. so i trimed a bit more of the LCA rain gutter back a bit more and also added about 1/4inch more to the stock steering stops. of course i loose a little bit of turning radius BUT i wont rub the inner tire on the lca or other suspension parts... im not sure what it was hitting exactly. but i figure with the steering stops spaced a little more and the gutters trimmed further i shouldnt ever knock any more wheel weights off!
it was rubbing the white lettering just slightly towards the center and the tire section between the lettering and rim.

ok well today i got alittle more work done.... went to local picapart afew days ago and found a few good scores from several trucks. i got another cluster for my truck, both door panels in VERY GOOD condition. a overhead console with the larger front opening for rear ac and heat, and also it has the HOMELINK which im already in love with and REALLY want to figure out a way to put this same homelink setup in my civic! i already have it set to every garage door to the house. but im going to change one and program it to the shops garage door eventually.
i also got another tan rear bench even tho its missing a large section of the fabric :( BUT i plan on cutting up the seat anyways so i just hope i can figure out a way to patch it. the biggest pain is the area thats messed up is the area i plan on keeping and cutting out the other 3/4 :( so that sucks but ill figure out something!
i also got a new rear view mirror with compass and tempature display on it so i took the mirror, wire section and the front temp sensor.
today i modified the overhead console. removed the heater controls and added a piece of mdf inplace and cut out to add my voltage display and also my amplifiers controls and carpeted it, tho i do not have the amp knobs hooked up yet. its going to be a pretty good job to run that wire to the overhead.
tho right now i also have the voltage display kinda rigged right now. i pulled one bulb from the map lights out and wired up the voltage display to its switch so i gotta turn the map light switch on to power on the display but its no big deal for now. when i wire up the new rear view mirror ill wire it properly. right now its just a temp.
from this overhead to this

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/truckconsole-14.jpg
and i might not be keeping that exact display... not sure if i want to switch it to red or not with the rest of my trucks lighting plans. but i do have to slightly tweek that panel. the display is slightly crooked and im not quite happy with it so eventually ill tweek it and have it fit better.
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/truckconsole-13.jpg
got my door panels. still gotta slap them on the truck. my current ones are in ok shape but a few cig burns.
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/truckconsole-05.jpg
and my seat i bought :(
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/truckconsole-04.jpg
and my new rear view mirror im going to try and wire up tomorrow night. at least bench test it.

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/truckconsole-10.jpg
i also got a underhood tool box, so im thinking of moving my one battery to under the truck and putting this tool box under the hood. still not sure yet. they are kinda rare to find at the bone yard and the truck JUST got put out so i scooped it up. good thing to because before i left the yard there was 5people there pulling the whole front end and motor outta the truck!

ok well i got abit more work done on the truck.
best thing is i have all my credit cards paid off ;) and i took a 10day vacation from work down to parents new florida home.
i bought some helper bags for the rear of my truck for 2 reasons. first my truck bottoms out the rear axle on hard dips and even worse if i have any weight in the bed. and second reason is id like to be able to tow with my truck and haul stuff in the bed. so these helper bags keep my truck from bottoming out the axle on the frame and also i simply air them up and be able to haul and tow heavy stuff just like the truck was built to do.
right now i have 30psi in the bags and it raised my rear about 1inch and so far i cannt bottom out the rear and it also rides better now in the rear with the air. its alittle firm so ill have to play with the air pressure to find the min psi so i can keep it low but also keep it from bottoming out when daily driving.
and i still want to do some testing and see how much of a lift i can get at the close to max psi. if 30psi will lift my truck 1 inch i wonder how much more lift i can get. time will tell.
i had alittle problem with the first install test fit since the DJM flip kit i used has a large top bracket to hold the driveline angle so it was either cut the helper bag bracket or move the whole helper bracket more forwards, WHICH SUCKED! had to drill more holes in the frame and thru the Cnotch which is a total of about 1/2inch of solid steel :( NOT FUN!
so i moved it forward to keep it strong.

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/helper%20bags/helperbags-10.jpg
and this is it moved forwards to clear.
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/helper%20bags/truckhelperbags-07.jpg

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/helper%20bags/truckhelperbags-10.jpg
so now i can tow home my next civic project. ;) only thing i need to do to be able to really do some heavy towing is hookup my trailer brake unit which ive had laying on my shelf for afew months now. ive just been to lazy to hook it up just yet.
i still have to hook up my air tank and compressor that i have. its a Viar 1.5gallon tank and compressor. nto to shaby. i spent 200bucks for the helper bags new, and 150bucks for the slightly used viar compressor and tank.
and i just spent about 40-50bucks for misc fittings and such to hook up the bags and compressor with some gauges and manual fill valves.
i would like to get another 1 or 2 gallon air tank to add to the system eventually. and one more thing im going to add later on..... well come on i got air and a truck... its AIR TRAIN HORN TIME! wish i kept the horns from my old 94civic i had but i sold them maybe a month or two before i got my truck.

ok well the quick valves and adapters all in..... i would like to add one more T and another psi gauge to the main compressors tank. and i also need to make up a side toolbox/divider so i can keep all my tools and such to the sides instead of across the back like i have it now. and once i build that divider board then i will clean up the valves and psi gauges.
and i still have to actually mount the compressor and tank and wire it up. i didnt have enough wire so i left it till tomorrow or the next day to finish it up.

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/helper%20bags/truckbagvalves-14.jpg
the compressor and tank will be mounted up front near the cab. and the air hose tucked under the bed rails. the lines are all pretty loose right now since i dont want to run all new hoses after i position everything where i want it so dont worry it will be alot cleaner than that. this is just a temp. i will be flush mounting the gauges and valves in the divider board and carpeting it all.
and i would like to have some electric vavles but i gotta find some cheap and small to use.

and i drove with it down the road at 90 psi and its like a ballon in the back trying to bounce all over the place.LOL so far i have it set to 25psi which feels the best! still a slightly firm/soft ride and doesnt bottom out. 20psi was just a bit to soft but it didnt bottom out. i just like the feel of 25psi better.

sweet dude lookin good. can't wait to see it all done and cleaned up.
and those bolts for your brace aren't very old are they? it just seems like they shouldn't already be that rusted.

ya i noticed those rusty bolts. kinda disapointed with them also.... only the heads rusted tho. the rear threads and nuts are clean.
i would have replaced them BUT they are a huge PITA to replace them.LOL

i would just sand off the rust and paint them that underbody/frame protective paint that you have
addiction2bass
08-08-2009, 07:39 PM
o well i plan on painting the whole frame next year sometime when i pull the bed off and swap the rear end for the one i have that is a gov locker unit. i was hoping to put it in this year but since im REALLY TRYING to be smart with my money and not let bills pile up again so im taking it nice and easy.
hell i just spent another 35bucks for wires to hook up my compressor and rear view mirror.
i just finished wiring up my compressor and bolting it down in the bed on some quick fabed up rubber pads but its still abit to tight i think so ill have to look at what kinda rubber isolators i can find to use. if you guys have any suggestions or where i can buy some please advise.
right now i have the compressor and tank all hooked up to a quick relay and switch so i can turn it off. i still have to buy another gauge and afew small adapters to hook up the gauge on the main air tank. im hoping i have no air leaks but im not sure so i dont want to risk the compressor keep kicking on with the truck off.
i would like to get some electric valves and a dual air gauge to so i can view and adjust the helper bags inside the truck. but again im trying to be easy on the stuff i dont need right now and just get the basics worked out.
tomorrow ill wire up the compass and temperature rear view mirror. i have it on the windshield already so now i just have to run all the wires for it. 4 wires, power ground, and the two wires for the temperature sensor to put in front of the truck right behind the grill. ive already bench tested it and it works great!
addiction2bass
08-10-2009, 04:44 PM
ok well 24hours after installing my temperature and compass rear view mirror... ive already pulled it out.LOL
only because i got a slightly better one! ;) the one i had was from a OBS 98 suburban but i went back to picapart today and found a NBS 2000ish chevy 1500 truck that had a mirror. at first i just wanted to make some money to buy it and sell it.... BUT after i tested the mirror out in my room i found out that its display is larger than mine because it shows both temp and compass display at the same time. and since they are both the same electrically ;) i just unscrewed the mirror and swapped them out and plugged them in.
before the old single display compared to the NBS mirror.

and the new NBS miror. ( and just so you know OBS stands for Old Body Style, and NBS means New Body Style ;) )

best of all guess how much i paid for the rear view mirror??????? i paid $2.59 for it. pocketed the wire pigtail and temp sensor for it ;)
tho i did pay the 2 bucks to get into the yard so like 5bucks. ;)
i love picapart and pullapart. tho pullapart is better. one 1buck to get in PLUS they keep track of there vehicles online and have email alerts so i can go right after i get a email telling me a new car of my choice comes in!
picapart is just a MAYBE youll luck out and see something new you like and hasnt been gutted already.... if you wait a few days then chevy trucks and hondas will be GUTTED!!! and so far i havent gotten ANY honda parts from picapart. and pullapart hasnt gotten any 96+civics in about 6months at least :(
i try to snatch up any parts i can make some money on or use myself... anything i can to help modify or pay for modifying my vehicles.LOL
ive only been to picapart and walked out with nothing ONCE.LOL

well another day of work. I FINALLY got the right overdrive pulley for me truck and another day diggen thru the junk yard found me a good buy and a good find ;)
got me a nice electric trailer brake controler and a OEM GM rear brake plug for a total of 9bucks, 7bucks for the controler and plug plus the 2 bucks to get into the yard :( but still a killer deal!!!!!
and someones is PISSED they lost there craftsman 1/2inch ratchet and craftsman 3/4socket. LMFAO
i almost got a full set of wide fender flares for a s10 BUT some other guy walked up the same time i did and was looking at them also so i just said o well and let him have em. i was just gonna buy them and put em on ebay but o well.
i have noticed quite a few of the new cars on the yard was all the cash for clunkers yellow spray painted motors with signs on them saying they are trash.LOL
but none civics. :( guess they know civics arent clunkers. :)
most clunkers where mostly stock tho :( but i always find something to walk out with.
and ya i already bought a brand new brake controler the same model and everything. but i bought the brake controler for my dads motor home so since does not have a display on it so he just has to guess and feel if the trailer brakes are sliding or not enough brakes. so this unit should help him out great since he uses the same controler in his 2000suburban.
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/brakecontroler-1.jpg
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/brakecontroler-2.jpg
my first overdrive pulley that was not small enough for me so the new pulley i got was more money but is a billet aluminum piece definatly ALOT lighter pieces.
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/97c1500alt-3.jpg
so ya i have 2 of the medium overdrive pulleys now sine they screwed up the second time and sent me the same pulley just spray painted black. he blamed it on a new person working there. 3rd time was the charm and i got the small one like i asked for.
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/truckoverdrivepulley-04.jpg

so far the charging is good at a stop light now. still not great only 13.8 or 14.0volts but i blame that on the dual battery setup since it only charges a solid 14.4volts rarely...
and yes i really need to clean the engine bay!

o man went to junk yard again. and they have a NICE truck sitting right behind the rear gate with my same wheels on it... i tried to get them for 200bucks tonight BUT they guys manager is being a jerk and said no i have to wait... knowing my luck the guy is going to pull them off the truck tonight himself and keep them :(
but im taking a chance and HOPE nobody does and they will put the truck out early tomorrow. they already have a huge area ready to put the gm cars so im hoping they will put it out fast since i am going to be there before they open up and HOPE they bring it out fast.... and i can score them pretty cheap... if they stick by the price listed it will cost me 160bucks.... or if they are jerks they will pull the wheels off and list them inside the checkout area for 300bucks or so... i just hope they are not jerks!
they are worth ruffly 500bucks. i hope to buy them and clean them up really good and slapping on some winter tires to the worst looking set of wheels i have.
i dont want to sell them tho. they are the best looking stock wheels for my truck!
but while i was at the yard i did find a few more homelink systems. i found 3 of them that where built into the sunvisors and a few other small things. i believe i have enough of these homelink systems now to play with.
i swear this cash for clunkers is turning up some great looking vehicles in the yard... but still a huge waste by the goverment! but so far im getting some good parts from it tho.

super score today. i gave another guy at work my hours and took today off.... day off WELL USED!!!!!
was at the yard before they opened and luckely the fork lift operator guy was very cool and when i asked he grabbed the truck up and dropped it off infront of me. i quickly as fast as i could busted off the lugs off and asked him again when he drove by to pick it up so i could pull the wheels and he did.
so i scored big time! and i only paid 80bucks for the wheels and tiers. even tho i told the guy last night i would give him 200bucks for me. they lost out for waiting. but i saved money so it worked out great for me. i also bought the front bench seat because it is in great condition so ill probably use it in the bed sometime.
i also bought the tailgate off the stepside truck because i can make some money off it quickly.
and it turns out my wheels are in worse condition then these new wheels. so i will be switching the tires over and getting some winter tires for the rusty rims to keep these good wheels cleaner longer!

and the tailgate i hope to double my money with ;)

well a bit of progress.
went back to picapart afew days later than last and as soon as i was getting ready to leave they brought out a truck with these sport wheels in decent condition... and I HAD TO GET THEM... so that was my 2nd spare set. i got home and my dad said WHY....LOL i just laughed. i paid the 82bucks for the whole set. spent 5-10bucks for some wheel cleaner and about 10-20mins cleaning and using some rubbing compound to clean the little bit of surface rust off the wheels and 2-3days later i sold em for 230bucks without the center caps since he didnt want them. so that profit was NICE... it paid for my 1st spare set of wheels the seat i got and other misc parts.LOL
nice score!
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/Stuff%20for%20SALE/truck%20wheels2/CLEANED/truckwheels2clean-1.jpg
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/Stuff%20for%20SALE/truck%20wheels2/CLEANED/truckwheels2clean-4.jpg
they all shined up great! that was the worst wheel there that cleaned up great in just a few mins. the guy that bought them was happy with them for the price and im happy he was happy.LOL and he did get a good deal on them. i just got a killer deal on them first. ;)
id love to find some more sets at my picapart to clean up and sell for profit. would help pay for my other toys for the truck!
but onto the work done.. yesterday i changed out the spark plugs with some E3 spark plugs. suposed to give better gas milage so ill put em to the test... my truck needed new plugs anyways so i decided to try these out and see if they actually help any. tho my plugs looked like they had way to big of a gap and they didnt look to pretty so im sure ill get alittle gain just from the right gap size. ;)
but no dirty plugs from burning oil or any other bad debri on the plugs so thats great! my old truck had some really dirty plugs from oil burning. so defiantly a plus knowing the motors in good shape!!!!!
and more work i got done was i built up some side boards so i can put all my tools and everything to the sides to clear up the center of my bed to help haul stuff alot easier.its only a start right now so please dont criticize to much. ;) im going to pull them out again and undercoat the whole thing and then cover it with the same tan cloth fabric i covered my subwoofer box in that matches nicely. and im also going to get more of those rubber floor mats to put down in the bed to keep the bed from getting scratched up any worse.
i would have liked to have the side boards alittle larger BUT since i haul full sheets of wood at least a few times a year i decided to keep the boards just even with the wheel wells which will fit a sheet of mdf nicely and clear. might be tight with my carpet covering them but time will tell. im going to try it tho. but will be a week or two before i order the carpet.
but holds all my typical junk nicely.
2 socket set tool boxes air compressor and tank mounted in the bed, spare serp belt, rope, multiple tie downs traps, tire iron, small sledge, towels orange cleaner water, tarp, gloves, fold out seat, O HELL I GOT ALOT. LMFAO
i thought i would have alot more room for other stuff BUT dang i shocked myself.LOL i might have to build a box upfront to hold any extra stuff out of the way... ill build it at least 3-4inches off the floor so i can still haul sheets of mdf and such lumbar i need.
and i know my cuts arent to good around the wheel arches... i was just free handing the cuts and my jigsaw blade kept cutting sideways instead of straight threw. but once i paint and carpet it you wont notice it so im just going to leave it since its no big deal.
from this mess to more organized and cleaner looken.

and my helper bags still need to be cleaned up more.... i just ordered a VIAR DUAL NEEDLE air gauge so instead of 2 gauges ill just have one in the back. i also want to have 2 other switches for the fill and dump. i still have yet to order the paddle switches but those should clean up the air switch setup nicely along with the dual psi gauge.

i got a little bit more work done now.
i took the high power alternator off and took it into the alternator shop because it kept jumping around voltage from 13/8-15.8 volts..... it was making my dash lights get really bright... well the next day he calls me saying there is nothing wrong with my alternator. so i get home swap the overdrive pulley back on it and put it back on the truck and now it charges 14.0-14.5volts.... needless to say i think that guy screwed up and just didnt tighten something down on the insides or something since now it works fine.... not as solid as i would have liked but its close enough for me with everything cranked up on high.
i also found out from a friend that the old guy that started the alternator shop died so i guess it went to his other 2 younger guys and they are running the shop now.
the old guy was definatly alot more friendly and tested out everything he build right infront of you! this guy doesnt. :(
but onto other work i got the viair dual needle gauge and 2 paddle switches hooked up to my air helper bags and it helps out SO MUCH when adjusting the PSI! now its a simple push up to inflate down to deflate :D im very happy with it!!!
tho i still have to fabricate up a panel to mount the gauge and switches in... but i dont know where i want to mount them just yet...
im thinking about going all out and put em inside the truck, or just put them in the trucks bed.
and i also checked and i get about 3inches of lift from 0-80psi. id rather not take it any higher than that since 100psi is the max for the bags.
and today i just bought new front brakes, hub/rotors, bearings, seals, and brake pads also. all good quality parts NAPA autoparts. cheap hub/rotors only about 60bucks each, good quality hub/rotors 125bucks each :( BUT i plan on keeping the truck for along time so i went with the best stuff. and a good set of napa ceramic brake pads. nothing to special. but its what he recommended. ill be replacing my warped rotors and brakes tomorrow morning. IM REALLY TIRES of these warped brakes!!!! so i finally bought the parts. freaken 320bucks for the parts but dont want to skimp out when it comes to brakes. hopefully everything goes smoothly tomorrow morning! i will be so happy when my brakes dont shake or squealing anymore! it sucks so bad! when stoping with some speed it shakes the wheel and pedal alot. and at slow crawl stoping like the last few feet when stoping or crawling thru the drive thrus it squealing like a pig really loud!
i was going to get a civic project this winter to work on BUT the more i think about it the less i think i will actually get a civic this year... so that kinda sucks but ill be able to get more done to the truck!
o ya one last thing i just bought on ebay.... big rig air horn... yes i wanted a train horn for the truck BUT i figured alot of people do train horns so i wanted to be alittle different so went with one horn for now... and if its not loud enough ill get a second one!
heres what it should about sound like... alittle different but still enough to get your attention if you cut me off on the road. ;) hehehee

well today finally got rid of my warped brakes up front. still has a tiny bit of shake but very minor from the rear. still have yet to do the rear. maybe next payday.

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/truckbrakes-09.jpg
also found out where my wheels have been rubbing every now and then on a hard dip. all nice and shiny ;)
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/truckbrakes-04.jpg
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/truckbrakes-03.jpg
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/truckbrakes-01.jpg
it doesnt rub that often and my tires do not show any wear rubing spots... so im not sure if i want to try and hammer the steel upwards or just leave it as is..
i think it will be alright but i might have to remove 2 of those bolts in the rub areas....
but no more shaking warped brake feel! ;) still has alittle bit of noise at slow speed stoping/crawling. i think its because the brake pads metal parts are rubbing on the caliper from built up of brake dust so it might go away but if it doesnt ill pull em off and clean the calipers fully and grease it in those areas.... ill give it afew days till my next day off and then ill pull em off to clean them if its still making any noise at all.
and today i scored some nice double/sliding sun visors for my truck from a van same color and all so its a easy swap i just have to run the wires and put one screw in the end since my visors only have the outter mount.
should be alot nicer with mirrors in both visors plus lights and also the double visor and slide part in the one visor. should turn out great! WAY BETTER THAN MY CURRENT STOCK ONES! they are just not big enough all the time to block the sun.
also cut out a piece of the headliner that matches my trucks interior which is hard to match since they only had this shade of tan for freaken 2years :(

well playing around the junk yard again and scored me another set of these chrome wheels so im hoping for some good profit again from selling em. i got fingers crossed! they arent as good of tires or center caps as my last set but actual wheels shined up GREAT!
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/Stuff%20for%20SALE/truck%20wheels3/truckwheels3-08.jpg
but the real reason for a BUMP. todays my birthday and i gave myself my own present this air horn. i got it in the mail today. i thought the airline was the same as my helper bags BUT its not so i have to buy some more adapters for the larger air line from my tank and also some better air line for my helper bags. the cheap hose i bought from lowes is WELL CHEAP and ive had it blow out twice already on my paddle switches. those barb fittings are to ruff on the cheap hose and cause them to split at the end.
going to go to a semi truck shop and buy some GOOD air line for them!
heres two quick videos i took.
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/th_truckwheels3-01.jpg (http://s40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/97%20C1500/?action=view¤t=truckwheels3-01.flv)

and thats with just 80PSI... more PSI should make it louder! and my air tank holds 150psi so i should get some NICE BLASTS!!!!
tomorrow i take on the task of WHERE to mount this sucker. ;) and im just going to hook it up to the stock horn wires for ease of instal and wiring!. i cant wait till someone tries to cut me off on the road once i get this sucker hooked up!
im happy that i went with this horn instead of the typical train horn most people put on trucks.

and its just one horn ;) i would have liked to have duals BUT i think one will be enough for now.... and one fits PERFECT right behind the bumper between the frame rails! i have it all mounted up on a cross brace i made and have the air line all ran from horn to the air tank BUT now i have to go buy some fittings and adapters to hook up the large air line going to it. my dad had some old air hose line laying around which i hope is good enough to hold a 150psi! ill find out later tonight when i get back from dinner and get those adapters i need to finish plumbing the system. tho i do need to do one last thing which is wire up a ignition wire to my air compressor to prevent my battery from getting drained if i do get a air leak or hose bust over night since im not sure about the condition of the air line im using for now. i might have to replace it eventually.

well not much work done lately. ive been buying some things from my local pullapart and selling them for profit and well now my profits are going towards my new tv payments.
just sold my truck bench seat that i paid 25bucks for and i sold it for 120bucks ;) and hopefully friday this guy is coming back to buy my extra wheels for 180bucks that i paid 80bucks for.
my new tv cost 2K bucks so all my profit is going towards it. gotta pay it off in 12months so i dont get hit hard with interest charges!
but this tv RULES!!!!!!!! 65inch Mitsubishi HD tv. beats the hell outta my old 60inch fatty tv!
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/Stuff%20for%20SALE/tv/tv-11.jpg
which im hoping to sell the tv. only asking 250bucks for it. but so far no takers. my friend wants it BUT i told her no way in hell im hauling it up 3tiny flats of stairs to her apartment.LOL
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/tv/tv-33.jpg
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/tv/tv-29.jpg
now i wish i bought the larger fridgerator/freezer afew months ago :(
only thing i have done was i had the rear drums turned and replaced the brake pads and springs with new parts from napa and my squaling went away completly which is odd since the old pads looked pretty new! they must have been cooked and just to hard since the new pads got rid of all my noises!
and i do have the air semi horn installed on the truck which sounds good. already scared the crap outta several stupid people on the road trying to cut me off or them just driving really stupid. i love it!
i did have one problem with my compressor tho last week. my pressure switch went bad and kept my compressor running all the time. :( 30bucks for a new pressure switch so now its fixed kicks the compressor on at 90psi and off at 130psi. for a while i had to just flip the switch off to air it up and keep it from constantly running.
ive also been having problems with my air line spliting on the paddle switches on my helper bags but i switched to some DOT line that i bought from a sem truck shop just from my T adaptor to the paddle switches barb connections and so far 2weeks and no splits. so thats good! i still have a tiny leak somewhere on my one helper bag. i just havent had time to find it yet. it only leaks about 5psi every 2 days which is very hard to find. :( ill probably have to remove every fitting and retape them and replace all the air line with the DOT air line. only downfall is that freaken hose is green so its ugly :(
32cents a foot to.... sucks but its ahell of alot better than this cheap @ss air line i have from lowes.... its fine for push to connect fittings but for barb fittings it splits to easily.
also sold my koni struts from my old civic on ebay but only got 250bucks for em after shipping so that sucks... was hoping to get 300 but o well. gotta put the money down towards my new tv to get it paid off faster.
still going to rebuild my bass system this winter and hopefully install this dang locker rear end in my truck also. ive just been to lazy to swap it out. i just need to feel like working on the truck on my weekend off work. and get some new brake cylinders for the rear since i have to bleed the system anyways to remove and replace the rear end :(

ya sure http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/profile.php?id=1072884283&ref=nf
i paid 2K bucks total for the tv, stand, and 5year warrenty from HHgreg. pretty good deal IMO since best buy wanted 2K just for the tv and nothing extra. ive been wanting to upgrade to a nice HD tv for along time now! and i seen the sale in the sunday paper last week and thought WHAT THE HELL... ill go file for credit whats the worst they could say NO your not approved.LOL
well i got approved and had em load the tv and everything up in my truck within the hour. ;)
so far im very happy with the tv!!!!!!! thing is very sharp. my old tv has the bottom 6inches or so that seems to have the color not aligned so kinda hard to read some subtitles which makes it hard for some video games. HD gaming is so much better!
pullaparts been working pretty good for me as long as i can sit on the parts for about a month. its not always a money maker since sometimes theres just nothing good to buy and make money off of. but i try. tho i am getting tired of going every day or 2 so i am slowing down. just going twice a week at most.
last time i went to pullapart i pulled some fender flares off a truck and right after i took em all off some guy comes up and says dang you beat me to em... came back about 5 mins later and offered me 20bucks for em... i said well 40 and you can have em. and he said he only had 30bucks cash so i said o OK ;) hell i didnt even pay for the parts and already made 30bucks.LOL

well lately i havent done much to the truck but got alittle work done, found me a smooth front bumper and swapped that onto my truck.
but mainly after looking about 6months i finally got a matching tan 60/40bench seat! ;) i got really lucky... was at my local picapart junk yard and they have a seperate lot full of CFC vehicles and second one on the lot had a tan interior and it matched my truck PERFECTLY... i asked the manager when they might put those vehicles out on the lot... and he said not till winter some time. so i offered him 100bucks if i could pull the seats out from it right then.. and he said alright go pull em ;) it normally only would have cost me 28bucks or 50bucks depending if they tried charging me for bucket seats since they are seperate.... but 100bucks is a good price still for these seats! they are in great condition even better than my bucket seats!
i sold my old grey full bench seat for 120bucks that i only paid 30bucks for... so i just say that profit from my other seat went to this new seat.
only downfall with the deal really is i couldnt remove the seat belts, so i had to cut the one lap belt so i could get the seat out of the truck.
tho today i went to my local pullapart junk yard that had some old trucks andn i got lucky, they had one older truck that matches close enough, a light tan so they will match good for now. still trying to find some 95-98 seat belt latches in tan but at least im not in a rush now.

so far VERY HAPPY with the swap.... only downfall is i lost about 1/2 my storage space and console cup holders. BUT o well.... i got a huge arm rest ;) and mostly this winter im ready to go BIG with the new stereo setup in the rear which was one main reason why i wanted 60/40 bench seat instead of my bucket seats.
i probably wont be putting the new system together until after newyears most likely... ive been spending quite a bit lately on a new big screen tv, surround sound, gps unit and also getting a new xbox360 MW2 limited console next month.
so im taxed out money wise right now! LOL just getting ready for my winter hibernation i guess you could say. LMFAO
o ya with my new 60/40 seats. they dont even have any cig burn marks on them. and my buckets do.
hoping to have this guy locally come get my buckets and console for 200bucks plus his tan seat belt latches. but he hasnt emailed me back yet.
AND YES...... I KNOW i need to clean my trucks carpet!!!!!! previous owner made a mess around the console! tho i think im going to TRY and get the carpet from the junk yard truck i pulled the seats from and HOPEFULLY no one else beats me to the trucks carpet. it was pretty clean only difference is my truck is a 3door and it was just a extended cab 2door.

Nice! Comfortable seats are a must for me!!
