I'm a Civic Noob.
With so little aftermarket parts available formy 2.4L Cobalt SS, I've decided that I am going to purchase an older Honda Civic Hatchback, probably a 99 or 00 model. I am completely unfamiliar with Civics so I hope to learn a bit from the forum here. So I just figured I'd leave a post that said Hello to everyone.

hey welcome to the forum, what are you looking at doing with the 99/00 civic? if you want a good car look for a SI model. im not sure if there are any hatch SIs in that year. but that has a good engine in it that has a lot of bolt ons available for it.

^ naw theres no 96-00 hatchback tht comes Si. but if he cant get an fairly cheap 96-00 hatchjback for lets say about $2000-3000 he can alway put in a b16 si engine and do the 00 conversion which is basically bumper and hood. ( its just an thought)

B16a2 swaps are engine/tranny, motor mounts, shift linkage, axles, and ECU. Pretty common swaps, other than that turbo kits are your best bang for your buck (over nitrous in the long run), but shouldnt be attemptedwithout lots of research and know-how, and a compression test to make sure your engine could handle it. Theres lots of info to be learned over on the Nitrous, Turbochargers and Supercharges section, read the stickies and you'll be loads smarter welcome to HCF though, glad to hear you're going Civic over Cobalt, Civics pwn all day
