Default Accessory Wiring Question?

New guy to this forum - just got a 98 Civic EX to use as a daily driver. I will need to get power that is turned on and off by the key for a CB radio, and probably a 3 socket "lighter" style plug so I can run my radar detector, sat radio tuner, and phone charger. I have not had time to look at any options under the dash yet - and I have very little experience with foreign cars, so I was hoping someone here can tell me the easiest place to pull power from. Thank You in advance!

Can I run that much stuff just by tapping into that wire though? I would really rather have the CB on one and the plug outlet on another.. Is there a fuse panel under the dash that I can run to and what fuses run only on acc besides the cig lighter? Like I said I just bought this car and weather has been crappy so I haven't been able to investigate yet...

i said this on clubcivic, but add up all the current you are looking to pull. each thing you want to plug in has a current rating, add it all up. things like cell phone charger can pull very little current because it's a voltage step down so 1 amp at 12v allows for more at 5v. let us know this number and we can tell you the safe and easy way to get what you're looking for.

You can use a bussmann bp/hhh or bp/hha fusetap to get accesory wires from the fuse panel depending on if you have mini fuses or ato fuses if its minis then use the bp/hhh its a fusetap that plugs right into the factory fuse and is totally safe to use provided you are not exceeding 10 amps. I have used them lots they are a very simple way to add a circuit for accessories like you cb or add on plugs. They look like this

you simply put the factory fuse in the bottom one and your add on fuse in the top.

There is an accessory hot terminal on the fuse box.
