Ok, I know that the Baja supposedly has 100 more rms watts than the California series.

for this sub... I know both would work, the baja series would have to be turned down a bit so the sub didn't blow. That one should push it to its limit on rms though as where the other one should be about dead on. I know i know, it's Profile, but I'm on a budget and my current profile amp works flawlessly.

oh yeah, this sub.

How good of a sub is that really? Right now i have the pioneer slim sub, but I want more and have a reg cab so space is an issue. 2nd gens are TERRIBLE on space.

It's a dual 4 ohm voice coil. I think those amps would work, runnin the sub in 2 ohm.

I say either or man. I haven't ever heard a Baja, but they look pretty neato, for the budget minded power hungry user.

I would always advise getting soemthing just slightly above the power requirements you need though, because your amp won't be running full blast, which means slightly cooler operation with less chance of overheating and protection *if applicable*.

I too like Profile amps, even though i think I am the only one here. They are pretty reliable from what I have seen personaly, and they offer a pretty decent warranty, which helps the cautious buyer with being afraid to try them.

I would probably pick the mono amp for a sub, before anything else.

Well you see, My Profile California series works great, the silver is cal series. My bro had a Profile Baja series (black) probably 4 or 5 years ago and he said it over heated all the time on him. And my current one is turned all the way up and still underpowers my sub by 30 or 50 rms. and it's never overheated/gone into protect. mode

and wow I just noticed their both 500 watts rms, I could of swore the cali series said 400 yesterday lol.

What's the good about havin the little controller deal? Would it be worth $20 more for the california for the bass controller or is it really not worth it as my head unit has subwoofer controll?

the **** just lets you have some fine tune ability from the drivers seat. you can kind of boost it up for some bassy stuff, and turn it down when ya got a headache... its probably worth it, I would just get it for the heck of it.

lol im with you STU, you arent the only one!!! i love my profile amp, havnt had any problem with it at all (knock on wood) and it bumps the hell outa my 1250's.....i got the 1000 watt1 (model 1200 i think), only pushin out aabout 200 rms to each sub. I hate wen people bash profile amps on here, most ppl who talk **** about them have never even had one........
