i am thinking about hiding my antenna (don't like the way they stick out) and replacing with a antenna block off plate. i am thinking about using this antenna instead. http://www.amazon.com/Metra-44UA20-U...2711188&sr=8-1 or http://www.amazon.com/Metra-44UA200-...2711188&sr=8-2 would this work? anyone have this? which one should i get? also, how is the reception?

I have one quite similar to the first one you have a link to. The reception isn't 100% like a stock antenna. It's okay. If you live never the stations you'll be fine. But if you live out in the country and you already have a hard time getting a signal good luck.

i live in the city so the towers should be pretty close by. i see that those antennas are amplified, shouldn't they be better than stock. where did you mount the those antenna? i think i like the 2nd choice because it attaches to the window and should pick up better reception. what do you think?

Big non-amplified antenna usually beats a small amplified antenna.

There is only so much an amplifier can do because amplifiers are not perfect. When the signal from the antenna is small the amplifier is mostly just amplifying its own noise.

what route should i go with hidden antenna? i just want something that gets the same reception as stock if not better. or are the ones i posted good enough
