Default Head Unit reinstallation

I just purchased my 98 civic lx. The guy that sold it to me didnt put his aftermarket head unit in the place of his OEM headunit. The aftermarket is down by the cupholder. I asked him why and he said if you remove the OEM headunit it screws up your keyless entry. Is there any way I can fix this?

yup, its called a T-harness, what you do is leave the factory radio stuffed behind the dash and then install the new radio where it belongs. It aint the most fun you will have but it works and you retain your keyless entry. Now if you go with an aftermarket alarm with keyless you can change your radio and get rid of the dookie t-harness crap and call it a day.

even if u put an aftermarket alarm in the car it is still alot easier if u just leave the radio in there, the domelight wont work without the radio or minor rewireing.
