help
im installing new speakers and i have a 1995 honda civic LX, i need to know whats possitive and whats negative in the speaker wires in the front doors. one is solid black, the other is black with a white line down the middle. i bought the car used and it had panosonic's in it, i copied the wireing of that, but i dont know if its factory. or if its aftermarket and the guy wired it wrong.
The solid black is probably your ground, and the one with the stripe is positive. You wont hurt the speakers by switching the polarity but they will sound faint and crappy. So hook them up like i said and if they sound faint and crappy then switch the positive and negative.
for the DC current all's you have to do is put the back prong to metal thats grounded (just some metal in your door should be fine) and the red put onto one of the wires..if the meter jumps that means its your positive wire the the red prog it touching, if it dosent jump then its your ground..but like ^he sead, just hook them up and if they sounds crappy turn them around, they dont hurt your speakers and its faster
