Default help onKenwood 8017

No matter what I tried, I'm unable to play CDs

1. The CD goes in, the unit shows "Checking files"
2. The first track seems to begin playing
3. the track time works. Next/previous track seems to work,
as are FF / rewind etc and MP3 ID tags / folder search etc.

BUT THERE IS NO SOUND!!! ZIP ZERO NOTHING.

The whole thing seems to be the same on 2 different CD-AUDIOs
(original) and a CD-R MP3.

I've also reset the unit several times, w/o success.
The tuner works fine. So are the eq/menu/clock/etc.

note that the disk is being read correctly, given the IDtags display
as well as the ability to rewind from Track 5 into Track 4 and
see the "time in track" changes to the end time of Track 4, etc.

I'm at a loss. returning this unit for repair (to the US from Israel)
is gonna be painful :-(

is this possible to fix this problem??????????? if not can anyone hlep me to remove this cd player and i want to install new one. well, i have Honda civic hatchback93.

if your using a amp on your speakers make sure you have the blue&white wire hooked up to it. if you used the straight blue wire there will only be audio when the radio is on , its the power antenna lead.
hope that helps.

Are your speakers hooked up it or do you have an external amp, does that power on? Is the volume up?

well, I didn't installed it. when i bought the car (Honda civichatchback 1993)the radio works, but this problem started around 3 days ago. and I don't have any external amp and volum is in high.

So this mean do i have todisconnect the Power antenna lead to work?????????????????????? by the way i don't have power antenna in my car.

well, i didnt say that, but that is besides the point, that only applys if you have an external amp, and you dont, so ignore that. since the tuner works fine it would lead me to beleive that s0omething is broken, but there is one other thing you could try, it sounds like you are trying to play a burned cd, most likely a burned mp3 cd, have you tryed to play a plain audio cd from the store?

i would have to say inside the radio, cause the cd player uses the same outputs as the tuner, so its pretty much has to be the radio, u could plug a friends radio in to confirm, but im pretty sure its the radio
