i have a 2002 civic lx, i want to get a keyless remote but my car doesn't come with keyless entry would a keyless remote work if i bought one???

No, you have to buy a keyless entry system, ie: Viper, Clifford, Avital... I personally like the Directed brand keyless systems. They install nicely and always work.
