First thing i checked was the ground.(for the amp) It seems to be fine the wire is only 3 inches long and i sanded down the area of contact and everythings nice and tight.
That's what I thought also, but he says the ground is good.

Chances are its a poor ground. Or a really $hitty amp. Id bank on the ground,
Thats the thing tho man i checked it like 250 times and its nice and tight and CLEAN. The ground is right next to the harness that goes to the tailights, could the ground possibly pick up interference in that area?

As long as the amp ground is securely on the chassis someplace, it shouldn't really pick up more interference than if it were moved a few feet away.

hmm it is kinda hollow but there really isnt too solid of a place, maybe theres a pinch seam i can tap into. OH and i just had a thought. Since im running 2 seperate amps (one for sub and one for front speakers, should those be grounded at the same point?

Ok guys i found the problem. The previous owner of my car left the amp wiring in the car when he sold to me, so i just hooked everything up to those but come to find out he connected the remote turn on wire to god knows where and when i used an electrical accesory (ie blinker, headlights and sometimes brake lights) it would make the voltage drop for a split second to like 5 volts. That is what caused the "skipping". So I spliced the remote turn on into the headunit wiring harness where it should be and everything works awesome. I appreciate you guys help!
