You are right, it sure does suck when it involves one's self.

The guys on the Mustang forum STILL can't get over why I didn't like the Infinity Kappa 6x8s that they highly recommended two years ago. Don't get me wrong, they were GREAT off radio power or for someone who wants their setup to sound like a Fletcher–Munson loudness curve at high volume. I guess many liked them because they were ultra sensitive and sounded better than stock off of radio power. Give them 100 watts RMS, and those MMD tweeters will tear your head off.

lol, people just have different styles and looks. some prefer quality over simplicity.

well i love a good debate as well as the next person... but work gets in the way them at times. remote start season can be a bitch. does anyone have a good recommendation for 6.5 components? i've thought of diamond, jbl high end, kove, and a few others but haven't heard any of them. i like the silk dome tweeter sound (not so bright), and only thing i have in my store that i like are type s component.

also kanarrjl,

no disrespect on opinions. i'm actually from alpena... and was wondering where you guys go for car audio. my family has a cottage up there on grand lake. every year when i'm up there i always look for shops. i think there was one there about 4 years ago... but thats gone. any who, i mentioned the working in a shop because i've seen some really stupid things in my days. i had a guy come in with a 6 cubic foot box with nothing but horn mids and tweeters running off 5 seperate amplifiers. on top of that, 3 extra amps running interiors and 2 amps running 4 subs. EVERYTHING was branched off of 1 4 gauge run with 1 battery.... i was dumb founded. rca's split everywhere and he wanted me to trouble shot his "tweeter box" and subs to figure why they were cutting off. only took an hour to explain all the theories that were neglected, but stupid none-the-less. so with the shop comment and the 18 8s, just been in the field long enough to want things simple.

I know i hate remote start season

as far as the 6.5's the best sounding comp's ive heard are the alpine type x but the crossovers are junk. so if you can afford them id get em then when the crossovers literally fall apart get some new ones by a new company.

its cool, alpena still sucks and we only have 1 shop its Premium Sound but they have gone downhill so much when the demand for high quality went away so did all of the sweet installs and now all of the guys just want to do prefab boxes and p1 10's lol, what shop did you go to? wow that guy sounds like a moron, i got why you didn't like the idea of 18 8s but i love to argue, and i completely get the whole simple thing my next setup is gunna be a single amasing sub 2 rocford amps (1 sub amp and 1 speaker amp) and 2 sets of components and a double din dvd player

ID CTX65cs's are pretty good. Focal makes good stuff, maybe a bit bright for you...JL Audio VR-Series if you can get them for a good price.
