ok your not good at building boxes...

ok maybe they don't have to move the surface area but a high quality 15 with a high quality motor will react just as fast as a 10.

actually larger subs are more efficient. if you have a 10 and a 18 with the same motor with the same amount of power the 18 will do higher numbers because they are more efficient.

actually its not so simple when you get into it audio is an exact science having to deal with box rise and cabin rise all of the fun stuff that you have no idea of. and stop searching on google to find out what they are.

people don't use 8's because they need more of them and more power to keep up with people who use the larger subs. they can hit high numbers. and 18 8's isn't gay at all that guy deserves respect because he wasn't in the norm like you ovbiously are.

wow.. master mecp certified and all... ok... well, you completely missed the entire point of what i was saying. yes, 18 8s are gay. originality is one thing, but you trouble shoot the 1 blown eight when something doesn't sound quite right (unless of course you're the guy who has them and doesn't work in a shop, i'm not dealing with that crap). secondly, i know motor structur, i know the mechanics, i'm not trying to argue this with you.... "general rule of thumb"..... kinda means like not pissing into the wind?? get the idea?? unless you're talking concert series amps and speakers, you know, the really big tower speakers at concerts running on large amps, 18s will never sound as good as 10s for rock. if you want to go into equations about how much power it takes to make a "good" 18 respond like a 10, then you've got more time on your hands than me. Thirdly, unless you're running a cargo van for spl (aka db drag), 18s are about pointless. that my friend, is simple physics. but i'm sure you've tried to put 2 18s ported in a grand prix latetly. throw all your opinions at me all you want, unless you have 18s that sound like 10s, i'm not sure which "opinion" your standing on, but i have 10s that sound incredible... in a truck, car, and anything else i've put them in. as much as i respect your opinions, i'm pretty sure we won't see eye to eye on this. unless of course, you have real evidence of someone doing what you're saying and winning contest with it. (ex, 2 18s winning an sq competition). loudness is EASY to obtain by common standards, sq is the key and trick! thats why bose makes the money they do.

1. I never claimed to be mecp certified. I just love audio, car audio to be specific.
2. I guess it is your opinion to think 18 8's is gay.
3. Sorry you don't know how to use a meter to find the blown sub.
4. I used to work in a shop, but how that has anything to do with anything I don't know.
5. My friends FI BTL 18's WOULD blow your T1 10s out of the water trust me another one of my friends has 6 T1's and yes the shop I worked at was an authorized Rockford Fosgate Dealer and yes I love Rockford.
6. There you go again on power you make no sense.
7. No its not a Cargo Van No its not a Grand Prix Its a GMC JIMMY
8. There are no SQ comps in or near Alpena you should know where we are being that you live in Lansing. We get lucky to travel 2 hours each way 2-3 times a year for DB comps.
9. We do agree on the SQ factor.
10. Bose lacks alot. They trick normal ears into thinking that there is a full sound when they are lacking. But even I will admit they do quite alot with such small setups.
