Default Replace Deck 93 Civic

Hi All,

I have a 1993 Honda Civic hatchback. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to replace the non-stock deck in it. Anyone have a guide or instructions?

Default RE: Replace Deck 93 Civic

You have to remove the part of the console that is in front of the cupholders. Remove the ashtray first. Then there are 4 screws: 2 on the upper portion of the console piece (visible in the picture), and one on each side of the console piece. Pull it from the dash and unplug the cigarette lighter wiring harness. Then you should be able to reach up and push out the stereo. There might be a bracket with bent metal tabs on it to hold the stereo in. You'll have to unbend the tabs. There also might be a screw holding the back of the stereo to the car.
