stereo installation
so i tried the tips and it worked. the 7.5 fuse under the hood was blown. i replaced it and now i got the radio to work just to solder it up and make it look nice. is there a way to extend the factory wires? if so what wires should be used. also are two wire not supposed to be used? and how do i wire up the amp and sub because i had paid to install that last time and i see a wire that looks like for power running to the back and a y spliter lookin rca cable once again thanks guys
Do not hook up the illumination wire from the car. Tape it up so it can't short out to ground. If it shorts out, a fuse will blow and your tail lights and dash lights will go out. Similarly any other wires your car may have that are not power, ground, or speakers should be isolated and taped up.
Plug the RCA cables into the "SUB OUT" jacks on the back of your head unit. Connect the single (usually blue) wire from the amp "REMOTE" to the "AMP CONTROL" (or similar name) wire from the head unit. It is usually a blue and white wire. This circuit does not connect to any of the car wiring.
