you know, the sticky clear plastic stuff that you use to hold things together 
anyway, can't you fit a double DIN stereo in the 96-00 area if you remove the little cubby hole?
If so, i'd just get a double DIN stereo that has tape and CD
you might be able to find one at a junkyard, i'm not sure but i'd bet that there was a Honda somewhere along the lines with a double DIN CD+tape deck
my dad's 2001 ford SUV has one, so i wouldn't doubt that honda has one somewhere
