Cables should do you find
I've never heard much from that amp company...I can't imagine they're too good, but this is a biased opinion lol
If you want to save some cash in the process
i suggest hifonics amplifiers, they're strong and very cheap, best bang for the buck hands down
as for subs, MTX offers great cheap subs that hit hard
if you don't want MTX, alpine's type E and S can hit fairly well without breaking the bank as long as you put them in the right enclosure
infinity subs aren't top of the line in quality but they hit pretty hard, i wouldn't worry about sound quality though because it's not like they sound like ****, they just won't compare to other name brands

I see you're shopping for economy products that give you "bang for your buck." I'm assuming you want alot of decibels, even at the sacrifice of SOME sound quaility. You probably listen to hip hop or something with similar hard-hitting bass. Right?

For $300, you could have done LOADS better.

Sell your amp, box and speakers, buy it now, for 80% of what you paid.

For a little over $300, this is what I would have bought for myself:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...ker+DC122.html
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...nder+2301.html

I am absolutely confident that system will KNOCK. Your mistake was not the type/brand of products you purchased, but the box you chose. If you want chest-pounding knock, but you don't want to spend $700+ on high power speakers/amps, get a vented or bandpass box. Those kicker comps are excellent subs that won't break - and they sound good in a vented box, and that MTX amp is top quality engineering. I am a loyal MTX fan, and a car audio professional.

There is another option, but its niether cheaper nor more expensive:

You could keep your stuff, and get a custom vented box. I can build you a custom box, vented, and computer-designed to be acoustically perfect for your current MTX speakers, but this will not be a significantly cheaper solution. It does, however, save you from taking a financial loss by selling your current stuff (which is actually very good equipment).

If you're interested, we can talk about a price, and I'll take into consideration the money you'd lose selling your stuff on ebay, as well as the extra cost of buying the MTX amp and Kicker system.

Either way, we'll get some serious bump in your trunk =D

wow, mr.b you are my new best friend. very informative. thanks so much.

while yes i do want loud, i am very **** about quality. but i would sacrifice some quality for loudness, like you said

i will also look into the linsk you provided

im not too sure about the vented box, the way you make it sound is that it will be a lot more expensive, and i am not too rich just planning on adding 100bux or so to what i make selling the subs and amp to buy a new setup.

I'm assuming you spent around $300 the first time around. If you list your stuff on ebay used, it will go for around $200-$220 after shipping, ebay fees and paypal fees... if it sells at all. That's a loss of $80 or more. If you buy the products I recommended in my last message, you'll be spending $320 + shipping, and possibly tax depending on what state you're in. At the end of the day, you'd be spending an additional $130 or so to get the bass you want. So it sounds like the links I gave you are a mere $30 over what you're looking for...not too bad.

With that in mind, I computed the results of how my vented box would sound like in your car with those MTX subs. Then I graphed the output of that kicker box I linked you to.

Check out these results, and decide for yourself if you want my box, or that kicker setup:

Your current setup puts out: 115.7 Decibels @ 83 Hz (High SQ, not very loud)
The kicker setup puts out: 119.1 @ 75 Hz (Very Decent SQ, More than twice as loud)
My box, with your MTX Subs: 124.5 Hz @ 79 Hz (Rediculously loud Bass, Poor Sound quailty)

My findings are that your MTX subs are only meant for a sealed box. But when you put them in a vented box, holy ****!!! They go SUPER loud, but the sound quailty goes to absolute crap. You don't want me to build you a box for those speakers. Sell them.

I REALLY recommend you go with the kickers I linked you to. Even still, tell your friends about me. I'm always looking to build custom boxes on the side

My custom boxes are worth over $200 easily, but what the hell... I don't build boxes for a living, I do it as an enthusiast with a passion. Car audio is my favorite hobby by far. To me, you'd have been an excuse for me to build another box - and I love being in the garage. Maybe you can understand this if you have a hobby of your own. I put bass in the trunk for all my friends and family for free... If you or your friends would like a custom box, I'll do it cheaper. $100 - $200, depending on the type of box, size, etc. My offer remains open if you want a loud, crappy sounding box $130.

I got the engineering data off of the product website(s). I plugged it into my expensive professional fancy shmancy software program and it tells me what any speaker will sound like in any box.

It's the ultimate tool when you're shopping for speakers/boxes In addition, I just know how to shop for this stuff, and get the best for your buck. My knowledge is worth money, so I try to land little deals on these forums from time to time.

Thanks for your interest.
