PS help..
it took me over a year to learn photoshop. You're gonna have to do some tutorials because you just can't explain it.
I'm working in photoshop right now actually. retouching a family photo.
up in the top menu bar under "Help", there should be drop down links on how-to tutorials and info sections.
try there first.
and if that doesn't work, go to a bookstore and buy a tutorial book (one with lots of pictures are best).

actually. you can find free tutorials online, but they're usually painstaking since you have to look at them first on your web browser and then switch to photoshop.
it's a pain in the *** to say the least... books rool.
but if you're a glutton for pain: http://www.photoshopcafe.com/tutorials.htm

Yeah, that's a pretty wide open question.
What is it that you're looking to learn? If you're planning on really getting into it, and you want to pick up a book, I suggest the Visual QuickStart Guides from Peach Pit Press.

I took a few classes to get started on it. The first class used the Adobe Classroom in a Book series, which I liked as they have the tutorial CD and only cover one topic per chapter. The Visual Quickstart guides are great, I have them for Quark and InDesign and they've always answered my questions. I don't know how good the PS one is though.
Once you get started you learn more by just screwing around with it. Illustrator is the same way.

I learned a few tricks and tips from this site:

I've played around with Photoshop a little, and it can be very time comsuming.
It took me a few hours to finish my little signature picture, but it's fun and rewarding once you know how to do it.
