Was havin my car tuned today on the dyno was ok until they tried engaging vtec. it went into vtec but then jumped back ot and threw a cel light. when checked it was cel22 vtec pressure switch. it went lean also when the cel went off any ideas?

they did a continuaty check of the wires from the switch to the ecu and said it was ok, so my thoughts is the switch is defective?

First check whether the engine oil low. If so, top off the oil and clear CEL code from the ECU.

 

yeah the oil level is fine, gettin quite concerned cause it has started to burn more oil but not excessive yet. do you think it could be the pump on its way out, but also am keeping the leaning out thing in mind. the reason bein this light has come up in the past and the last time it was tuned it came up my tuner said it was nothin to worry about. there is a distintive smel of oil when slowed down to a slow cruise or stopped a the lights.. had leak down done was:

cyl 1 12%
cyl 2 8
cyl 3 6
cyl 4 9
this is concerned too high o no.1
but the comp test comes out ok.. was thinkin of gettin an oil pressure guage to monitor its activity but no stock oil pressure light has come up atall.

lean= det
oil pump= no lube= friction and wear

Ya check oil pressure and if its good replace the sensor. I hadthis code but the wire was disconnected
