JDM B18C ITR ECU question
Hi,
Does the 99 Spec JDM ITR ECU have an immobilizer in it? The ECU is a P73. And can I use my stock 99 Civic EX wiring harness for my B18C ITR swap? I found a 1998 how-to swap guide and it worked for the 98 spec. I know I have to rewire a few things like the IAB, and a extend connectors to make it work.
Thanks

ive done some serious research on this for you and to find out
the jdm p73 does not have the immobilizer. so you should be ok.
most people who have done this swap have just did a conversion jumper to obd1 and put a p28 ecu in.

Cool, I was up reading for a while last night about how to remove it. The information out there on honda-tech and other various forums is not concrete. Everything from how to do it to if the IMMO is even going to be an issue in the 1999 P73 ecu.
I wasn't sure if my P73 does or does not have an IMMO. I'm picking up the motor tomorrow and I'll look for the chip after I get it.
If for some reason its a USDM ECU I'll need some help getting the IMMO removed. I PMed someone from a thread 3 years ago on Honda-tech who successfully did it without throwing a CEL. But 3 years ago is a long time... I checked and the guy was last active a couple days ago so I might get a response.
I have to worry about California emissions so it has to be 100% functional. AND I really don't want to look at a CEL while I'm driving =)
I'll let you know what I find tomorrow.
Thanks for your help
