There's a problem with AutoZone, at least here in Illinois. I've tried three different stores in two different counties and they all say that they only have OBDII scanners. The first time I went, I told the guy I had a '96 cuz I already knew they only had OBDII scanners and he was looking all over for the computer hook-up and he's asked me again what year it was. He said, I think this is a 95 cuz I have a 92and my door handles are the same as yours or something to that nature. And then I played stupid and just said, "Oh, did I say '96? I meant '95." And he's like, "Yeah, man, we don't have scanners for anything before 1996 vehicles." And then he told me about the DIY pulling the code w/o specifics, which as I said I'm having trouble with. I went to two more different stores after that for the heck of it. Same scenario. But, the main reason I purposely told him it was a '96 was because I used to own a '95 Ford Ranger and I would always tell AutoZone that it was a '96 after hearing the '95 lecture, and the codes were exactly the same as when I went to a mechanic. So, there must not have been a change in the computer or something with those particular years. Thanks again.
