Default obd2 legal

I need to get an 97 civic to pass emissions inspection. It has a p30 ecu, that I know is only obd1. It has a b16a dohc vtec engine. Is there an ecu to plug in and read out yhe aldl connector. If so what ecu code is it and what other misteries am I in for.

You can plug in a P2P ecu in and have to trick it into thinking that the CKP is working even though your B16 doesn't have it. I am having the same problem with my car...

I assume you have a OBD2a-OBD1 conversion harness with the p30, correct?

I don't think the OBD2 reader you are mentioning will work with the p30 (as you may already know). Get a 99-00 Civic Si ecu and a OBD2a-OBD2b conversion harness and you should be without any CELs at that point.
