Default setting the timing on a del sol

i have a honda del sol and i just rebuilt the motor and i got the timing manually set right and i am wondering if there is an ecu controlled ignition timing. i have been having problems finding out if that is true and if i need to send it to a mechanic to reset it. the problem is, it is igniting when the exhaust valve is open. so any help would be great. thank you.

Default RE: setting the timing on a del sol

when adjusting the timing, did you jump the service plug? if not the ecu will adjust it right back. yes, is the answer to your question. but before you spend mopre $$ try the jumper, and reset your ecu first.
