Default Tune Needed After New Header/Exhaust on '09 Civic LXS???

Hey folks. I'm new to this forum but not so new to Honda. I currently have a 2009 Civic LXS Sedan. I have put a K&N short intake on the car. I will soon put my new Meganracing header and a Magnaflow exhaust system on the vehicle. The cat convertor will be removed during the process.

My question is do I need to do anything with regards to the ECU or other system on the vehicle?

I would greatly appreciate any info/advice you guys could give me.

You don't really need to tune after just doing the intake and exhaust. Typically that only gets you +3-5 HP max, even with a tune.

I would recommend keeping a catalytic converter on the car... I'm not some eco hippy, but the cat burns off harmful exhaust vapors. If you have kids around and they breathe poorly treated exhaust fumes, that could lead to problems for them. Magnaflow sells a true "high flow cat" that isn't just a test pipe.

ecoHippy. That's funny! Never heard that term before.

I guess I'm mostly concerned that adding these mods will screw up the engine. It sounds like it won't. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

No, bolts ons will not do much of anything except create noise.

Noise I can handle. The noise of a piston coming out the side of the block will pain me. Thanks for all the replies. I may brave this HOT weather and get out to the garage and do a little modification today.
