Default V-TEC HOW TO MAKE IT WORK?????

i have a 97 civic with a d16y7, and i have a d16z6 head to put on it. but how do i get the v-tec to work the car still has to pass inspection?

at first i thought i could just use a v-tec controller now i have read and found that does not work.

is there any way to make it work without changing ecu?

if not could i use a y8 ecu i have to keep it OBD2?

1) No

2) No

3) No

You'll need a Y8 head and a P2P ECU if you want to keep it OBD2. Otherwise you'll need to convert to OBD1 and run a P28.

This got me worrying a bit. I have a P06 chipped for Uberdata on my 95 turbo civic. I have a JDM d15b vtec, does my ECU even allow my vtec to kick in?

you need to mod your p06 into a p28. You just basically need to add some resistors, they sell kits online that come with everything thats needs to be solder in order to be a p28.
